Tigers Sweep Timberwolves

Thanks to another well-rounded night, the Napavine volleyball team swept Morton-White Pass in straight sets (25-12, 25-16, 25-18) Monday night on the road.

The Tigers (2-0) were strong once again from behind the service line, with Keira O’Neill and Emily Kang serving 100%, and amped up the intensity for their first road match.

“Our passing was really good tonight, the girls prepared mentally for the game and were strong, we kept the intensity up all night,” Tigers coach Monica Dailey said. “I was really happy with the way they played, they were having a lot of fun and were focused.”

Though Dailey said the Tigers still have things to work on, like their communication during tense back-and-forth rallies, she thought Napavine played well on the road.

O’Neill finished with nine kills and seven aces, Morgan Hamilton added 17 digs and a team-high 13 kills, Grace Gall dug up 17 balls, and Avery Schutz and Jessie McCoy combined for 22 assists. Kang also added 11 digs in the back row.

Napavine takes on Kalama Tuesday in a big early season test at home.
