Tigers Stymie Titans With Second-Quarter Barrage

Once again dominating its opponent, the Napavine football team defeated Pe Ell-Willapa Valley, 46-6, Friday night in Pe Ell.

The Tigers (4-0) got on the board early with two Cael Stanley touchdowns, and allowed their very first score of the 2022 season after the Titans’ Cody Strozyk found on the end zone on a 2-yard plunge in the first quarter.

From there, it was all Napavine.

The Tigers piled on five touchdowns over the next quarter and a half to walk away winners for the fourth week in a row. Ashton Demarest threw for a trio of scores and rushed in another, Austin Chapman added a touchdown on the ground, and Colin Shields, Karsen Denault, and Max O’Neill hauled in touchdown receptions.

The Tigers outgained the Titans, 405-101.

"Even though we got our butts kicked a bit there, I was still proud of the way my boys played," PWV coach Josh Fluke said.

PWV will look to rebound against Morton-White Pass next week while the Tigers look to continue their run of dominance against Bellingham at Civic Stadium.
