Tigers stay perfect in C2BL play with big win over Vikings

The Napavine basketball team is four games into its league season, and the Tigers are a perfect 4-0.

The latest victory came on Friday at Mossyrock, where they burst out to a massive lead early before cruising to a 71-31 victory.

Napavine led by 23 after the first, 33 at halftime, and 46 entering the fourth before Mossyrock outscored the Tigers in the final frame.

The Tigers’ defense was stout in quarters one through three, as they allowed just 16 points in the first 24 minutes.

Karsen Denault led the way with 23 points, six rebounds, five assists, and a pair of blocks, and Hudson Chambers flirted with a double-double with 12 points and eight rebounds. Grady Wilson, Beckett Landram, Jack Nelson, and Tyler Watson each scored six points, and Wilson added four assists.

Cal Bullock, Eric Bullock, and Landon McNamara added four points each.

Shaun Fry and Kevin Mitchell led Mossyrock with eight a piece, and Fry added nine rebounds and three blocks. Ethan Johnson added seven points and six rebounds.

Napavine (5-1, 4-0 C2BL) will host Klahowya in a non-league contest on Monday, while Mossyrock (2-5, 2-5 C2BL) will welcome Adna next Friday, Jan. 3.
