The Napavine girls basketball team took care of Toledo on Saturday, defeating the Riverhawks 62-33 on the road.
Napavine’s defense got better as the game went along, as Toledo scored just 22 points in the final three quarters.
The Tigers led by seven after a strong offensive first quarter, and they continued to add on thanks to 18 points from Hayden Kaut and 10 from Taylen Evander. Kaut added eight rebounds, while Evander also logged three assists and a pair of steals.
Seven other Tigers got on the board, including Jessie McCoy, who scored eight, and Ava Ondong, who tallied seven. Hannah Fay scored six, and Nicholle Valentine tallied four points, four steals, and five rebounds.
Ryah Stanley led Toledo with nine points and eight rebounds, while Peyton Holter and Kailea Lairson-Young both added eight points.
Ellie Fallon added three points, four rebounds, and three assists, and Hope Gould added six rebounds and three points.
Napavine (14-5, 5-2 C2BL) is now locked into the No. 3 seed in the district tournament. The Tigers will host Winlock in their regular season finale on Tuesday, and then they’ll open district play against the No. 8 seed on Saturday.
Toledo (11-8, 2-5 C2BL) is currently slated as the No. 8 seed, and the Riverhawks will end their regular season on Tuesday at Toutle Lake.
