Tigers Fall to Highclimbers

Cohen Ballard got hot, but that was about all that went well for the Centralia boys basketball team in a 68-40 loss to Shelton.

Ballard went 5 for 10 from beyond the arc and was perfect from inside it to drop a game-high 24 points. But the rest of the Tigers combined for just 16, with Carlos Vallejo and Von Wasson scoring six apiece and Aiden Haines adding four.

Centralia kept things close for a quarter, trailing 19-13 after eight minutes, but only managed nine points in each of the successive three periods. Shelton led 38-22 at halftime, and kept growing its lead in the second half.

The Tigers will return home for a Swamp Cup matchup Thursday, hosting W.F. West.
