In preparation for the postseason, the Centralia boys golf team played another 18-hole match on Wednesday, and the Tigers fell to Aberdeen 462-541 at Highland Golf Course in Cosmopolis.
“A little rain early, but not much,” Centralia coach Hal Gronseth said. “It was a pretty nice day for golf.”
Tyler Fagerness was the match medalist with a 79, and even though he struggled at times putting, Gronseth was more than impressed with his performance.
“He played the best he’s played all season,” Gronseth said. “He hit the ball well and played the best at the right time.”
Jake Johnson shot a 102, while Tristin Henning was three strokes back at 105. Paul Guthrie added a 125, and Sawyer Donahue logged a 131.
It was Centralia’s final regular season match of the fall, as the attention will now turn to the postseason.
The 2A EvCo Championship Meet is set for Monday at Riverside, while the 2A District 4 Championship Meet will take place the following Monday and Tuesday, Oct. 21 and 22, at Heron Lakes Golf Club in Portland, Oregon.
