Tigers Fall on the Road

The Centralia girls basketball team fell behind early and never caught back up at Steilacoom, losing 63-37 to the Sentinels in a non-league showdown.

Makayla Chavez led the Tigers with 11 points, nine of which came on a trio of 3-pointers in the fourth quarter, when Centralia had its highest output of the game with 13 points. But while they were doing that, the Sentinels — who led 24-16 at halftime — were scoring at an even faster clip, following a 19-point third quarter with 20 of their own in the fourth to stretch the deficit.

Brooklyn Sprague and Emily Wilkerson both pitched in five points for Centralia; Kassandra Ritchey, Gracee Cline, and Liliana Babka all had four.

Centralia (1-2) will begin 2A EvCo play on Friday at Aberdeen.
