The Centralia girls basketball team stayed in its game against Fife for a quarter and ended strong as well, but the second and third spelled doom for the Tigers in a 50-38 loss to the Spartans in the Tiger Holiday Classic.
Fife went on a 10-3 run in the second quarter to turn a three-point lead into a 10-point gap at halftime, and had it out to 16 by the time the fourth quarter rolled around.
Brooklyn Sprague led all scorers with 18 points, but was the only Tiger with more than five — where both Gracie Schofield and Makayla Chavez finished.
The Tigers will wrap up their duties as tournament hosts Saturday, against Yelm.
