Tigers Drop Wildcats to Stay Unbeaten

In slugfest, the Napavine boys basketball team held La Center to 34% shooting, and beat the Wildcats on the road, 57-42, Saturday afternoon in non-league action.

The Tigers got 26 points from James Grose to lead the way, but otherwise had a hard time navigating a game with a lot of whistles early on. Eventually, Napavine erupted for 22 points in the second quarter to build up a big lead, and hung on to win by double digits.

Karsen Denault was the only other Tiger in double figures with 12 points, and Cayle Kelly pulled in a team-high eight rebounds.

Jack Nelson nearly had a double-double with nine points and seven boards.

The Tigers will next head to Brewster for a tournament, taking on Mabton first on Wednesday.
