After staying even with 3A Heritage of Vancouver Friday night at Ron Brown Court, the Centralia girls basketball team had a bad second quarter, getting outscored by 21 points and eventually falling 67-36 in its home opener to the Timberwolves.

The Tigers managed to stay even with the Timberwolves through one at 10-10, a 28-7 second quarter that didn’t go their way spelled down in the defeat.

Makayla Chavez led the Tigers again with 11 points and was the only Centralia player in double figures.

Centralia will play next against Steilacoom on the road on Monday.
