Tigers Can’t Complete Comeback Against Bobcats

Though the Centralia softball team had much more success against Aberdeen freshman ace Lilly Camp the second time around, the Tigers couldn’t complete a comeback in a 12-9 defeat on the road Friday evening.

The Tigers allowed a Bobcat run in every inning, committing three errors and struggling to find consistency on the mound. Peyton Smith got the start, and went five innings with 10 hits and six earned runs allowed with two strikeouts and five walks, and Payton Baumel came in relief, pitching one inning with two hits, two earned runs, and a strikeout.

At the plate, Liza Hubbard smacked a double that scored three runs, and Makayla Chavez went 1 for 2 with two runs, an RBI, and two walks to lead the way for the Tigers.

Camp’s final line was seven innings pitched, seven hits, two earned runs, 13 strikeouts, and five walks.

The Tigers take on Rochester on Monday at home in their next outing.
