Tigers Battle at Outdoor Kalama Meet

Posted

Napavine boys and girls wrestling competed at an outdoor mix-and-match meet on the football field at Chinook Stadium in Kalama on Tuesday.

“It was so hot out that we had to delay the start of the match until the mats cooled down,” Napavine coach Jay Terry said.

Aiden Miller continued his hot streak this season, winning his single match at 160 pounds. He’s undefeated since dropping down a weight class last week.

At 145, Case Van Kooten won his only match with a first-round pin.

On the girls side, Anna Gunther came from behind to pin her opponent in the 130-pound division.

Next up for the Tigers is the Westside B Regional at Fork at 11 a.m. on June 9.
