Thurston County's COVID-19 vaccination clinic is set to permanently close after operating for more than a year.

Thurston County Public Health and Social Services announced last week the clinic at Capital Mall in west Olympia will permanently close after June 26.

Since opening in May 2021 as a pop-up clinic, PHSS has administered more than 31,000 vaccines at the mall clinic. It grew quickly, from being open three days a week to being open every day.

The department is going to continue providing COVID-19 vaccinations in partnership with local health care providers, schools and more through 2022, according to a news release from the department.

Mobile vaccine clinics will continue to be hosted throughout the county, and many pharmacies and health care facilities are continuing to offer vaccines for free.

Anyone looking for a vaccine can search for availability through the state Department of Health Vaccine Locator online tool. Upcoming vaccine clinic information can be found online as well. If you're part of an organization interested in hosting a mobile vaccine clinic, you can call the department at 360-867-2610.
