A 24-year-old Thurston County man has pleaded guilty to killing his mother last year.

Roan Littlemoon pleaded guilty Tuesday in Thurston County Superior Court to second-degree murder (domestic violence), first-degree robbery (domestic violence), first-degree burglary (domestic violence), and residential burglary (domestic violence).

He is scheduled to be sentenced Feb. 12. Prosecutors will recommend he serve nearly 23 years.

Sheriff’s deputies found Littlemoon’s mother, Robin Tingle, 60, dead at her home on 184th Avenue Southeast between Bucoda and Tenino on April 3, 2017. The next day, police in Longview found the car Littlemoon was using.

According to court documents, Littlemoon told detectives that he and his mother argued about her car and whether she was going to sell it to him. When Tingle reached for the phone, Littlemoon said he grabbed it away from her and choked her until she was unconscious. He then went to the kitchen for a knife and cut her throat, according to court documents.

Tingle had been granted a domestic violence protection order against Littlemoon in the summer of 2016. In the petition, she wrote Littlemoon threatened her life and once pulled a gun on her. After she died, Tingle’s daughter told detectives Littlemoon had physically abused his mother and grandmother.

Littlemoon was arrested with Sabrina N. I. Young, who prosecutors said was at the home when Tingle died and made no attempts to help Tingle.

Young, 19, pleaded guilty in November to third-degree rendering criminal assistance and third-degree theft.
