A 17-year-old Lacey girl, suspected of driving under the influence, is now facing a possible vehicular assault charge after she injured two passengers in a Saturday night wreck in Lakewood, according to the Washington State Patrol.
About 8:45 p.m., the Lacey girl and her four passengers, all of whom were 29 or older, were headed south on Interstate 5 and then exited the freeway at Thorne Lane.
Troopers say the girl failed to negotiate a left turn onto eastbound Murray Road and crashed into a barrier.
The two passengers who were injured: A 38-year-old Olympia woman who was taken to Madigan Army Medical Center at Joint Base Lewis-McChord and a 51-year-old Lacey woman was transported to St. Joseph Medical Center in Tacoma, according to the State Patrol.
A 29-year-old Olympia man and a 57-year-old Lacey woman were not hurt, according to the State Patrol.
Traffic in the area was slowed for more than four hours, troopers say.
