A 41-year-old man was arrested Friday night after a deputy found multiple garbage can-size bags of marijuana in his vehicle, according to the Thurston County Sheriff’s Office.

The man was booked on suspicion of unlawful possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver, marijuana.

A deputy stopped the driver on Interstate 5 in the Lacey area Friday night after he failed to move out of the left lane, the Sheriff’s Office said in a social media post.

The deputy then noticed the smell of marijuana and obtained a search warrant, ultimately finding 150 pounds of “prepackaged marijuana not intended for legal resale,” according to the social media post.

The 41-year-old man was booked into jail about 12:45 a.m. Saturday.
