Thurston County Board of Commissioners to go on three-week recess

The Thurston County Board of Commissioners will take a three-week recess from Monday, June 24, through Friday, July 12. No board briefings or regular meetings will occur during this time.

The recess has been planned since January 2024. It’s the second year the commissioners have taken a three-week summer recess.

“This upcoming recess allows us to coordinate commissioners’ schedules during the summer,” said Board Chair Tye Menser. “County business will continue, we just won’t be holding meetings with a quorum of the board.”

According to a news release, the board has found the break to be a successful way to streamline business during the busy summer months.
