The Black Hills boys basketball team had a trio of double-digit scorers, but couldn’t produce enough to overcome 3A Kelso at home Saturday afternoon, 61-54.

The Wolves (6-5, 3-2 2A EvCo) got 14 points from Johnnie Stallings, 10 from Luke Ellison, and 10 from Simon Trujillo-Nysted in a complete scoring performance, but couldn’t keep up with an explosive 3A state contender in the Hilanders, who also had three double figure scorers.

Black Hills will look to pick up its first win of the new year against Aberdeen on Thursday for its next scheduled contest. Though, the Wolves still need to make up a game against W.F. West after flooding in Lewis County forced a postponement on Friday.
