Three people are in custody following an armed robbery at a business in the 21800 block of Old Highway 99 Southwest near Grand Mound on Wednesday.
The reporting party told law enforcement a male subject armed with a firearm had taken the contents of the business’s cash register at about 4 p.m. on March 15, according to Lt. Cameron Simper of the Thurston County Sheriff’s Office.
The subject, described by the sheriff’s office as “a Pacific Islander male, approximately 6 feet tall, wearing shorts and red and white basketball shoes,” reportedly got into a black Dodge Charger that possibly had two other occupants inside.
Deputies with the Thurston County Sheriff’s Office located the vehicle in the 6100 block of 201st Avenue Southwest. One deputy reportedly saw three males walking away from the vehicle, but quickly lost sight of them.
Law enforcement set up a perimeter in the area and deployed a newly-certified K9 team: Deputy Madison Dillon and K9 Isa.
Together, they successfully tracked the suspects to a trailer in the 60400 block of 201st Avenue Southwest.
Deputies made several verbal demands for the suspects to exit the trailer, which the three male subjects obeyed.
The three subjects were booked into the Thurston County Jail for first-degree robbery on Wednesday.
As they have yet to be formally charged, the Thurston County Sheriff’s Office had not released the subjects’ names as of Thursday morning.
