Two teenagers accused of murdering 30-year-old Navjot Singh during an attempted robbery at a Toledo area Shell station last week entered not guilty pleas Thursday to all charges filed against them in Lewis County Superior Court. 

Both of the suspects are charged as adults. Taylor K. Lenihan, 16, and Quinton M. Ramey, 17, both of Redding, California, face one count each of first-degree murder, first-degree attempted robbery, possession of a stolen vehicle, possession of a stolen firearm and second-degree unlawful possession of a firearm. 

They are accused of entering the Shell station in the 100 block of Mulford Road at about 8:46 p.m. on Wednesday, May 3, pointing a firearm at Singh, shooting him during a struggle over the firearm and fleeing the scene. 

The charging documents specify that Lenihan and Ramey have accomplice liability for several of the charges, including the first-degree murder charges, which means they “acted as the principal and/or as the accomplice of another person in the commission of the crime,” according to court documents. 

The third suspect in the case, a 15-year-old male, is having his case handled in Lewis County Juvenile Court. 

Juvenile court records are protected under state law and are not publicly available.

The three suspects were arrested in Sumner and were booked into the Lewis County Juvenile Detention Center on Thursday, May 4, after Sumner law enforcement recognized the juveniles’ vehicle as stolen and connected it to the Toledo homicide. 

Ramey has since been transferred to the Lewis County Jail. Lenihan was still in custody at the Lewis County Juvenile Detention Center as of Thursday. 

Bail for each suspect is set at $5 million. 

Trial is currently scheduled to begin July 11, but defense attorney Jacob Clark, who represents Ramey, said he expects the trial to be delayed. 

“Obviously, we’re waiting on a lot of discovery,” Clark said during a trial setting hearing in Lewis County Superior Court on Thursday. 

Omnibus hearings to check on the status of the cases are scheduled for June 1.
