Tacoma Police Seize Drugs, Guns During Traffic Stop; Driver Arrested for DUI

A traffic stop in Tacoma on Monday led to a drug bust and the arrest of one person who police suspect was driving under the influence.

A Tacoma Police Department officer pulled over a driver at about 2:20 p.m. after he crossed into oncoming traffic near the 3600 block of South Main Street to pass another vehicle.

Police obtained a search warrant for the car and to test the driver's blood for intoxicating substances.



Inside the car, police found three handguns, one of which had been reported stolen.

Officers also found 88 grams of heroin, 281 grams of Oxycodone, 327 grams of methamphetamine and 56 grams of cocaine.

The driver was arrested for investigation of driving under the influence, first-degree unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute, driving with a suspended license and possession of a stolen firearm.
