T-Birds top Tigers, move into second in EvCo

The Tumwater boys basketball team snapped a two-game skid with a big win over Centralia on Tuesday, topping the Tigers 78-42.

The T-Birds were down 9-1 early, but went on a 17-0 run to take control and outscored the Tigers 45-21 across the second and third quarters.

Landon Anchors scored 15 points while adding three steals and three assists, while Braeden Konrad scored 14 points and brought down five rebounds.

Julian Balsley and Bryce Morgan both scored 11 points, and Morgan added four assists and four steals. Luke Overbay scored nine points and grabbed seven rebounds, while Jake Dillon scored eight points.

Beckett Wall scored four points, hauled in five rebounds, and added four assists, while Joshua Schlecht scored four points and had four assists. Jake Reid grabbed six rebounds and dished out four assists.

Terrell Sanders led Centralia with 12 points, while Kadin Yeung scored 11 and Trevor Griffis scored seven.

Braden Baine scored five, Jordan Yeung added three, and Johntah Pirtle and David Daarud both added two.

Centralia (2-15, 0-7 2A EvCo) will host Shelton on Thursday, and Tumwater (12-5, 5-2 2A EvCo) will host Black Hills in a Pioneer Bowl doubleheader on Friday.
