T-Birds Thump Tigers

Led once again by a strong ground attack, the Tumwater football team defeated Centralia at Tiger Stadium, 56-7.

The Thunderbirds ran for 286 yards, led by Logan Cole’s 91-yard, two-touchdown day. Carlos Matheney added 58 yards on the ground and another touchdown for an offense that was firing on all cylinders, and scoring in all three phases. The T-Birds scored on offense, defense, and special teams in the win, with Luke Reid taking a punt return to the house.

The Tigers’ lone score came in the third quarter, off a trick play pitch pass from Blake Seymour to Dustin Ingles for a 58-yard touchdown. Ingles also had an interception and three tackles, and Willie Stinkeaway added a forced fumble and a fumble recovery for Centralia.

The Thunderbirds take on W.F. West next week while the Tigers play Rochester.
