Tumwater’s win streak is now at seven after the Thunderbirds dominated Aberdeen 55-0 win on Friday.
It was the typical Tumwater dominance in Aberdeen, as the T-Birds scored 21 in the first and led by 35 at halftime. They ran for 348 yards on the night, and tallied more than 410 yards of total offense.
Payton Davis ran for 118 yards and two touchdowns on just four carries, while Jaylin Nixon took his only carry for a 65-yard touchdown.
Matty Rodriguez, Cash Short, Brett Heryford, and Jayden Hinchcliffe also ran in touchdowns in the win.
Jaxon Budd completed two of his three passes, one to Sunny Nguyen for 38 yards and the other to Mason Houskeeper for 28.
Mehki Richardson led the defensive effort with 10 tackles, including three tackles for loss, and a pair of sacks, while Cash Short and Beckett Wall combined for 13 tackles, including three tackles for loss. In addition to his rushing touchdown, Rodriguez also scored on a fumble recovery.
The win sets up a 7-0 versus 7-0 showdown between Tumwater and W.F. West next Friday in Chehalis, which could determine the EvCo champion.
