Two of the better teams in the Evergreen Conference put on a season-opening show as Tumwater dispatched W.F. West 206-230 on Monday night at Newaukum Golf Course.
Sophomore Jamie Conzatti snared medalist honors for the Bearcats with a 1-over par 37 nine-hole round. The advantage for Tumwater was its three-through-five golfers after Landon Baydo and Braeden Konrad fired 39s.
Baylor Olsen carded a 42 while Zane Laposky and Liam Gustafson each shot a 43. W.F. West saw Weston Potter shoot a 38 and its other three golfers – Emmeyy Goodman, Jax Potter and Hudson Morgan – all fire rounds under 56.
The Bearcats will host Black Hills on Wednesday while Tumwater battles Shelton at home on the same afternoon.
