For the second straight day, the Tumwater baseball team didn’t need a full seven innings to defeat Centralia, dispatching the Tigers in five Tuesday at home, 15-1.

Eighteen different Thunderbirds got a plate appearance in the blowout, with Jack Worgum leading the way, going 2 for 3 with two runs scored and two RBIs. Nick Lowery added two RBIs on a single.

On the mound, the T-Birds struck out 11 of the 19 Centralia batters, led by ace Ryan Orr’s 10 strikeouts in four innings.

Landon Kaut knocked in the Tigers only run in the fourth inning, scoring Landen Jenkins, who recorded the Tigers only other hit.

Jenkins also got the start on the mound, pitching 3 ⅓ innings with 10 earned runs allowed on 10 hits and three walks.

The Tigers take on Aberdeen in their season finale Wednesday, already eliminated from district playoff contention, while the T-Birds have no more regular season games and have locked up the league championship. They’ll play in the first round of districts against the Greater St. Helens League No. 4 seed in Tumwater May 10.
