Speeding and distracted driving caused a crash that injured an Oregon driver Sunday afternoon on state Route 7 in Lewis County, according to the Washington State Patrol.

The crash was reported at 4:36 p.m. Sunday at milepost 10 of the highway, about 10 miles north of Morton.

A white 2015 Toyota Corolla driven by Sindy J. Avila-Gutierrez, 29, of Woodburn, Oregon, was driving north on state Route 7 when it crossed over the southbound lane and hit an earthen bank.

Avila-Gutierrez was injured and transported to Morton General Hospital.

She was cited for speeding too fast for conditions, distracted driving and driving with a suspended license.

Drugs or alcohol were not suspected to be a factor in the incident.
