More than two dozen area golfers competed across the state in the first day of the state golf tournaments, and ten made the cut and advanced to the second day.

In Liberty Lake, Adna’s Trevin Salme shot a 4-over 76 at MeadowWood Golf Course, putting him in fourth in the 2B Boys Tournament heading into Day 2.

He’s one of three area golfers in the Top 5 of their respective tournaments.

Rainier’s Lilyann Peralta is in third and just one stroke behind the co-leaders in the 1B/2B Girls Tournament after shooting a 13-over 85 at MeadowWood, and Black Hills’ Ellie Johnson is in second and four strokes behind the leader in the 2A Girls Tournament after shooting a 4-over 76 at Tumwater Valley.

Four other area golfers made the cut in Tumwater. Tumwater’s Jenna Kalar (16th, 88), Lily Wagner (26th, 92), W.F. West’s Madyson Alexander (T-37th, 96), and Black Hills’ Lila Ariss (T-37th, 96) will join Johnson on Day 2.

In Chehalis, two 2A boys — Tumawter’s Braeden Konrad and Black Hills’ Phoenix Flores — made the cut after shooting an 81 and an 82, respectively. Konrad is tied for 20th, and Flores is tied for 24th.

In the 2Bs, Adna’s Kalli Christen is also through at MeadowWood, as she carded a 102 and is in 16th place.
