Sirens: Woman arrested for DUI after rollover on Kresky Avenue; Man under bridge punches another man; local jail statistics

Vehicle accidents

• A non-injury vehicle accident reported in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue just before 12:40 p.m. on May 30 is under investigation.

• A two-vehicle rollover collision with possible injuries was reported at the intersection of Northeast Kresky Avenue and Exhibitor Road was reported just before 7:25 p.m. on May 30. A caller reported that a car tried to pass a vehicle, crashed into another car and rolled over into a ditch.

• A non-injury, two-vehicle collision was reported in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue just after 3:55 p.m. on June 1.

• A non-injury collision was reported in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue just before 1:40 p.m. on June 2.

 

DUI

• A 31-year-old Chehalis woman was arrested for DUI after she was involved in a rollover collision at the intersection of Northeast Kresky Avenue and Northeast Hampe Way at 9:50 p.m. on May 30. Possible injuries were reported in the crash.

 

Hit-and-run

• A hit-and-run was reported in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue just before 11:05 a.m. on June 1.

• A hit-and-run reported in the 300 block of West Main Street at 12 p.m. on June 2 is under investigation.

 

Drug violation

• A 37-year-old Rochester man was arrested for possession of a controlled substance in the 100 block of Southwest Veterans Way just before 1:20 p.m. on May 30. He has also been referred on one count of second-degree introducing contraband.

 

Theft

• A man reportedly shoplifted from a business in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue just after 7:30 p.m. on May 30.

• A theft was reported in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue just after 9:05 p.m. on May 31.

• Shoplifting was reported in the 500 block of South Market Boulevard just before 8:20 p.m. on June 1.

• A woman reportedly stole a bike from a store in the 1600 block of Northwest Lousiana Avenue at 6:35 p.m. on June 2.

 

Burglary

• A second-degree burglary reported in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue at 10:15 a.m. on June 1 is under investigation.

• A second-degree burglary reported in the 600 block of Northwest Arkansas Way just before 10:30 p.m. on June 2 is under investigation.

 



Assault

• A man reported an unknown man in a bush under a bridge in the 600 block of West Main Street punched him in the face, possibly breaking his nose, just before 6:10 p.m. on June 1.

• A physical dispute between two men was reported in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue just before 9:25 p.m. on June 2. 

 

Suspicious circumstances

• Just after 6 p.m. on June 2, a woman in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue reported that she had tried to pick up an unknown man on the side of the road and get him food but said the man “stole her stuff and is abusing her.”

 

CENTRALIA POLICE DEPARTMENT

Warrant arrest

• A 39-year-old Centralia man was arrested in the 1000 block of West Main Street just before 8:25 a.m. on June 2 on an outstanding Pierce County Superior Court warrant for felony harassment.

• A 49-year-old Centralia woman was arrested on an outstanding felony warrant in the 2000 block of Borst Avenue at approximately 10:15 a.m. on June 3.

 

Assault

• A juvenile male was arrested for fourth-degree assault, domestic violence, and unlawful imprisonment in the 2900 block of Mt. Vista Road at 12:25 p.m. on June 2 after he allegedly pushed a family member to the ground and trapped them inside a room.

 

Theft

• A backpack was reported stolen from a store in the 1300 block of Lum Road at approximately 7:25 p.m. on June 2.

 

FIRE AND EMS CALLS

• Between Monday morning and Wednesday morning, Lewis County 911 Communications logged approximately 37 illness-related calls, 20 injury-related calls, six fire-related calls, seven non-emergency service calls, five vehicle accidents, three overdoses, two Lifeline medical alerts, one 911-hangup call and six other calls.

 

JAIL STATISTICS

• As of Wednesday morning, the Lewis County Jail had a total system population of 176 inmates, including 162 in the general population and 14 in the Work Ethic and Restitution Center (WERC). Of general population inmates, 136 were reported male and 26 were reported female. Of the WERC inmates, 12 were reported male and two were reported female.

• As of Wednesday morning, the Chehalis Tribal Jail had a total system population of 20 inmates, including four booked by the Centralia Police Department, seven booked by the state Department of Corrections, one booked by Chehalis Tribal Court, one booked by Chehalis Tribal Law Enforcement, one booked by the City of McCleary, one booked by the City of Napavine, three booked by the Quileute Nation in La Push, one booked by the Skokomish Tribe and one booked by the Tulalip Tribe.
