Sirens: Wheelchair Ramps Stolen; Girl, 13, Arrested for Threats With Scissors; Vehicle vs. Pedestrian Crash

CENTRALIA POLICE DEPARTMENT

Vehicle Prowl

• A small safe was reported stolen out of a vehicle in the 400 block of West Pear Street at approximately 8:05 a.m. on Sept. 8.

• A vehicle reportedly sustained damage while parked in a parking lot of a business in the 400 block of West Pear Street when somebody forced their way into the vehicle. The incident was reported just after 8:30 a.m. on Sept. 8.

 

Other Theft   

• A wallet and credit cards were reported stolen from the 1300 block of West Main Street just before 11:55 a.m. on Sept. 7.

• A set of aluminum wheelchair ramps were reported stolen from the front of a residence in the 300 block of West Summa Street just before 12:05 p.m. on Sept. 8.

• Copper was reported stolen from a vacant house in the 300 block of Lakeshore Drive just before 6:30 p.m. on Sept. 8.

 

Vehicle Accidents

• A minor, non-injury vehicle accident was reported in the 1100 block of Harrison Avenue at 4:55 p.m. on Sept. 7.

• A non-injury, two-vehicle collision was reported at the intersection of Harrison Avenue and West High Street at approximately 3:20 p.m. on Sept. 8.

 

Juvenile Problem

• A 13-year-old girl was arrested in the 900 block of Johnson Road just after 12:40 p.m. on Sept. 8 and was booked into the Lewis County Juvenile Detention Center for felony harassment after she allegedly threatened other juveniles with a pair of scissors.

 

Drug Violation

• A Centralia man was cited for possession of methamphetamine and violation of a trip permit in the 600 block of Harrison Avenue just before 5:55 p.m. on Sept. 8.

 

CHEHALIS POLICE DEPARTMENT

Theft

• Just after 7:45 a.m. on Sept. 7, a 2009 dark gray Honda Accord was reported stolen from the 1100 block of Southwest Cascade Avenue sometime overnight.

• At 9:10 a.m. on Sept. 7, a blue vintage Schwinn 10-speed bike was reported stolen from the intersection of Northwest Louisiana Avenue and Northwest Chamber of Commerce Way two nights prior.



 

Vehicle vs. Pedestrian Crash

• A vehicle versus pedestrian accident was reported in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue at approximately 1 p.m. on Sept. 7. The pedestrian reported minor knee pain following the crash and no one was transported to the hospital.

 

Trespassing

• Squatters were removed and trespassed from a property in the 600 block of North National Avenue just after 1:05 p.m. on Sept. 7.

 

Burglary

• A second-degree burglary reported in the 1200 block of Northwest Maryland Avenue just before 6:50 a.m. on Sept. 8 is under investigation.

 

Assault

• A second-degree assault reported in the 300 block of North Market Boulevard at 7:55 a.m. on Sept. 8 is under investigation.

• A man reportedly threw an 11-year-old girl “on the ground and spit on her” in the 200 block of Southwest 13th Street at 6:30 p.m. on Sept. 8. No injuries were reported and no arrests were made.

• A possible sexual assault was reported in the 10 block of Southwest Second Street just before 10:35 p.m. on Sept. 8.

 

Suspicious Circumstances

• A man was reportedly “watching kids with binoculars” from a parking lot in the 2000 block of Southwest Salsbury Avenue at approximately 1:45 p.m. on Sept. 8.

• Just before 2:25 p.m. on Sept. 7, a man reportedly “stuck his hand through the mail slot” to a house in the 300 block of Northeast Washington Avenue. No arrests were made.

 

LEWIS COUNTY JAIL STATISTICS

As of Friday morning, the Lewis County Jail had a total system population of 169 inmates, including 151 in the general population and 18 in the Work Ethic and Restitution Center (WERC). Of general population inmates, 124 were reported male and 27 were reported female. Of the WERC inmates, 15 were reported male and three were reported female.
