Vehicle vs. Bicycle Collision

• Minor injuries were reported after a bicyclist was struck by a motor vehicle in the 100 block of West First Street at approximately 2 p.m. on May 10.

 

Hit-and-Runs

• A hit-and-run collision was reported at the intersection of South Pearl and West Plum streets just before 10 a.m. on May 11.

• Officers responded to a single-vehicle collision in the 1300 block of South Gold Street just before 2 a.m. on May 12. The vehicle had collided with a power pole, causing downed power lines and a power outage in the surrounding area. The suspect fled on foot prior to police arrival.

 

Theft

• Money and a television were reported stolen from the 500 block of South Oak Street just before 8:20 a.m. on May 10.

• A Centralia man was cited for alleged theft in the 500 block of Harrison Avenue at 2:45 p.m. on May 10. He was also issued a court date for an outstanding bench warrant.

• A tool was reported stolen from a backyard in the 1000 block of West Fifth Street just before 10:25 a.m. on May 11. 

• At 10:55 a.m. on May 11, a 2002 Honda Civic was reported stolen from the 1100 block of South Tower Avenue sometime during the night.

• Merchandise was reported stolen from a store in the 500 block of South Tower Avenue just before 1:10 p.m. on May 11. This case is still under investigation.

 

Crash

• A non-injury collision was reported in the 2800 block of Russell Road just before 3:45 p.m. on May 12.

 

Recovered Stolen Vehicle

• A vehicle that had previously been reported as stolen was located in the 100 block of West Maple Street at 6:35 p.m. on May 11.

 

CHEHALIS POLICE DEPARTMENT

Vehicle Prowl



• A vehicle prowl reported in the 700 block of Southeast Adams Avenue just after 9:45 a.m. on May 10 is under investigation.

Vehicle Theft

• A 2018 Toyota Corolla was reported stolen from the 600 block of Southeast Prospect Street just before 9 a.m. on May 11.

 

Shoplifting

• Two subjects were cited for shoplifting in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue at 5:50 p.m. on May 11.

 

Assault

• A fourth-degree assault reported in the 500 block of Southeast Adams Avenue just after 11:10 a.m. on May 10 is under investigation.

 

Crash

• A non-injury, two-vehicle collision at the intersection of U.S. Route 6 and Southwest Riverside Drive was reported at 1:20 p.m. on May 10.

 

Harassment

• At 3:35 p.m. on May 10, a caller in the 800 block of Northwest New York Avenue reported that a neighbor screamed at them and their kids on their way home from the bus stop. No arrests were made.

• Just after 4:40 p.m. on May 10, a caller in the 600 block of Northwest State Avenue reported that her ex had “been stalking her all day.” No arrests were made.

• Just after 2:50 a.m. on May 11, a caller in the 300 block of Southwest Third Street reported that her boyfriend was harassing her. No arrests were made. 

 

LEWIS COUNTY JAIL STATISTICS

As of Wednesday morning, the Lewis County Jail had a total system population of 135 inmates, including 104 in the general population and 31 in the Work Ethic and Restitution Center. Of general population inmates, 81 were reported male and 23 were reported female. All WERC inmates were reported male.
