Sirens: Rocks thrown through windows of home, city building; sexual misconduct reported at Green Hill School; sexual assault of child reported

CENTRALIA POLICE DEPARTMENT

Drug violations

• An 18-year-old Centralia man was cited for minor in possession of alcohol after he was found passed out in a field at the intersection of Graf and South Scheuber roads just after 9:25 a.m. on Feb. 17.

• A 38-year-old Centralia man was cited for possession of a controlled substance in the 1200 block of Harrison Avenue at approximately 8:55 p.m. on Feb. 17.

 

Theft

• Just after 4:20 p.m. on Feb. 17, a vehicle was reported stolen from the 300 block of N Street by a known suspect who did not return the vehicle to the owner when asked. The case is under investigation.

• Just after 9:10 p.m. on Feb. 17, a citizen reported that someone had entered her Hyundai in the 900 block of South Tower Avenue and damaged the ignition in an apparent attempt to steal the vehicle.

• Two businesses in the 1600 block of South Gold Street had their doormats stolen just before 9:15 a.m. on Feb. 18. The case is under investigation.

• A backpack containing personal items valued at over $1,000 was reported stolen from the 100 block of South Silver Street just before 12:10 p.m. on Feb. 18.

• A bicycle was reported stolen from the 1100 block of South Pearl Street at 7:55 a.m. on Feb. 19.

 

Malicious mischief

• Vandalism to the window of a city building in the 100 block of West Maple Street was reported just after 8:20 a.m. on Feb. 18.

• Someone reportedly threw a rock through the window of a residence in the 500 block of Woodland Avenue just before 3:55 p.m. on Feb. 18. Investigators are reviewing surveillance footage of the area, according to the Centralia Police Department.

 

Harassment

• Threats of physical violence by a known suspect were reported in the 1100 block of Scammon Creek Road just before 12:25 p.m. on Feb. 18. The case is under investigation.

 

DUI

• A 32-year-old Illinois man was arrested for DUI at the intersection of South Gold and Fair streets at approximately 2:50 a.m. on Feb. 19.

 

CHEHALIS POLICE DEPARTMENT

Green Hill School

• A custodial assault that occurred at Green Hill School in the 300 block of Southwest 11th Street on Jan. 2 was reported just after 1:20 p.m. on Feb. 14. Green Hill staff told the Chehalis Police Department that the delay in reporting was due to the incident “being reviewed,” according to the Chehalis Police Department.

• Sexual misconduct reported at Green Hill School in the 300 block of Southwest 11th Street just before 8:55 a.m. on Feb. 17 is under investigation.

 

Malicious mischief

• A citizen reported someone spray painted a shed on his property in the 10 block of Southwest 10th Street just after 2:50 p.m. on Feb. 14.

 

Theft



• A second-degree theft reported in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue at approximately 6:20 p.m. on Feb. 14 is under investigation.

 

Criminal trespass

• Someone was reportedly “messing with (the) handle of the door” at a residence in the 1500 block of Southwest Snively Avenue at approximately 11 p.m. on Feb. 14.

 

Indecent exposure

• A report of indecent exposure in the 1400 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue at 7:50 p.m. on Feb. 15 is under investigation.

 

Suspicious circumstances

• At approximately 8:35 p.m. on Feb. 16, a woman in the 10 block of Southwest Chehalis Avenue reported “she has been followed all night and harassed” and said unidentified subjects “are going to prostitute her out and sell her cats.” A dispatcher noted that the reporting party “continuously makes these unsubstantiated claims” and has “clear mental health issues.”

 

Vicious dog

• A dog described as either a German shepherd or a golden retriever reportedly killed a cat in the 600 block of Northwest Pennsylvania Avenue just after 3:05 p.m. on Feb. 16.

 

Sexual misconduct

• Sexual assault of a child reported in the 400 block of North Market Boulevard just before 4:05 p.m. on Feb. 16 is under investigation.

 

Disorderly conduct

• Five subjects were reportedly “screaming obscenities” in the lobby of a hotel in the 200 block of Southwest Interstate Avenue just before 7:45 p.m. on Feb. 16.

 

Vehicle accident

• A female driver reported neck pain following a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Northwest Louisiana Avenue and state Route 6 just after 10:50 a.m. on Feb. 17.

 

FIRE AND EMS CALLS

• Between Monday morning and Wednesday morning, Lewis County 911 Communications logged approximately 60 illness-related calls, 13 injury-related calls, four fire-related calls, six non-emergency service calls, three vehicle accidents, four Lifeline medical alerts, two pregnancy-related calls, one rescue, one overdose and two other calls.

 

JAIL STATISTICS

• As of Wednesday morning, the Lewis County Jail had a total system population of 154 inmates, including 141 in the general population and 13 in the Work Ethic and Restitution Center (WERC). Of general population inmates, 114 were reported male and 27 were reported female. Of the WERC inmates, 11 were reported male and two were reported female.

• As of Wednesday morning, the Chehalis Tribal Jail had a total system population of 22 inmates, including four booked by the Centralia Police Department, one booked by Chehalis Tribal Law Enforcement, 12 booked by the state Department of Corrections, one booked by Chehalis Tribal Court, one booked by the Tulalip Tribe, one booked by the Skokomish Tribe and two booked by the Lummi Nation.
