Sirens: 'Missing Car' Found Where Caller Left It; Assault; Fraud; Arrests for Assault

CHEHALIS POLICE DEPARTMENT

Assault

• A man was cited for fourth-degree assault in the 1900 block of South Market Boulevard just before 1:45 p.m. on June 15 after he allegedly threw candy at a clerk.

• A man reportedly hit a woman in a parking lot in the 500 block of South Market Boulevard at approximately 9:35 p.m. on June 15. The alleged victim left the scene and no arrests were made.

 

Fraud

• A case of non-specific fraud reported in the 300 block of Southwest Riverside Drive just before 2:25 p.m. on June 15 is under investigation.

 

Trespassing

• A “disgruntled customer” was trespassed from a business in the 1900 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue just before 7:15 p.m. on June 15.

 

Theft

• A third-degree theft reported in the 1700 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue just after 8:35 p.m. on June 15 is under investigation.

• A catalytic converter was reported stolen from the 1600 block of North National Avenue just after 5:35 a.m. on June 17.

 

Missing Car

• A customer at a gas station in the 100 block of Southwest Interstate Avenue reported her vehicle had been stolen just after 8:20 p.m. on June 15 but while she was on the phone with law enforcement, she informed them that she found her vehicle “right where she left it.” She reportedly “couldn’t see the vehicle behind another vehicle.”

 

Disputes

• A man reportedly threatened to spray another man with pepper spray in a parking lot in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue at 9:10 a.m. on June 16. No arrests were made.

• A family disturbance or dispute that was reported in the 1200 block of Long Road at approximately 4:40 p.m. on June 16 is under investigation.

 

Burglary

• A second-degree burglary reported in the 600 block of Franklin Avenue just before 8:20 p.m. on June 16 is under investigation.

 

CENTRALIA POLICE DEPARTMENT

Vehicle Theft

• A 1990 Chevy truck was reported at the intersection of West Magnolia and North Pearl streets at approximately 5:25 p.m. on June 15.

• A red 2020 Jeep Cherokee was reported stolen from the 200 block of North Tower Avenue just after 11:50 p.m. on June 16.



• A red and black 2008 Kawasaki ZX600 motorcycle was reported stolen from the 10 block of East Maple Street just after 12:30 a.m. on June 17.

 

Other Theft

• Batteries were reported stolen from a store in the 200 block of North Tower Avenue at noon on June 15. The case is under investigation.

• A purse was reported stolen from the 1200 block of Mellen Street just after 11 p.m. on June 15. The case is under investigation.

• A catalytic converter was reported stolen from the 1000 block of North Washington Avenue just after 8:30 a.m. on June 16.

 

Assault

• A subject from Centralia was arrested in the 300 block of North Centralia Street just after noon on June 15 for allegedly damaging a cellphone during an altercation with a household member and interfering with the reporting of a domestic violence crime.

• A Centralia man was arrested in the 1200 block of Long Road at approximately 4:40 p.m. on June 16 and was booked into the Lewis County Jail for fourth-degree assault, domestic violence, after he allegedly bit his wife during a dispute.

 

Harassment 

• A Centralia woman was arrested in the 200 block of East Chestnut Street just before 8:55 a.m. on June 16 and was booked into the Lewis County Jail on harassment charges after she allegedly threatened to kill her boyfriend while she was holding a knife.

 

Hit-and-Run

• A hit-and-run was reported at the intersection of North Pearl and West Main streets at 2:25 p.m. on June 15.

• Just after 4:10 p.m. on June 15, a hit-and-run that occurred in the 200 block of North Tower Avenue the day prior was reported.

• A hit-and-run was reported in the 900 block of Marion Street at approximately 2:35 p.m. on June 16.

 

Vehicle Accident

• A minor, non-injury, two-vehicle accident was reported at the intersection of North Pearl Street and Reynolds Avenue just before 5:35 a.m. on June 16.

 

Graffiti

• Graffiti to two power boxes in the 500 block of Centralia College Boulevard was reported just before 2:45 p.m. on June 15.

 

LEWIS COUNTY JAIL STATISTICS

As of Friday morning, the Lewis County Jail had a total system population of 128 inmates, including 108 in the general population and 20 in the Work Ethic and Restitution Center (WERC). Of general population inmates, 89 were reported male and 19 were reported female. Of the WERC inmates, 18 were reported male and two were reported female.
