Sirens: 'Looking For God in Mailboxes'; Dogs Left in Car; Child Molestation Reported

CENTRALIA POLICE DEPARTMENT

Theft

• A vehicle prowl was reported in the 1000 block of West Walnut Street just before 8:10 a.m. on July 14.

• Items were reported stolen from the 500 block of South Rock Street at 3:55 p.m. on July 14.

• Items were reported stolen from the 1300 block of Lum Road just before 4:40 p.m. on July 14.

• A vehicle prowl was reported in the 400 block of West Fourth Street just before 1 p.m. on July 15.

• Medication was reported stolen from the 1400 block of Johnson Road just before 3:10 p.m. on July 15.

• A possible burglary to an outdoor shed was reported in the 1300 block of Alexander Street just before 4:40 a.m. on July 16.

 

Crash

• A driver who suffered minor injuries in a single-vehicle collision in the 300 block of Harrison Avenue just after 11:35 p.m. on July 14 was cited for alleged negligent driving, lack of ignition interlock and driving with a suspended driver’s license.

 

Assault

• A subject was cited in the 1300 block of View Avenue just before 12:35 a.m. on July 15 and was referred to the Lewis County Prosecutor’s Office for alleged second-degree assault, domestic violence.

• A subject was arrested in the 1100 block of Mellen Street just after 2:40 p.m. on July 15 and was booked into the Lewis County Jail for alleged third-degree assault and eluding.

 

CHEHALIS POLICE DEPARTMENT

Theft

• A third-degree theft reported in the 1500 block of North National Avenue at approximately 1:10 p.m. on July 14 is under investigation.

• A third-degree theft reported in the 2100 block of North National Avenue at 3:05 p.m. on July 15 is under investigation.

 

Broken Car Keys

• Just before 2 p.m. on July 14, a caller reported that she had gone to retrieve her belongings from an ex-boyfriend’s residence in the 100 block of Southwest William Avenue and said he “was refusing to let her leave and broke her car keys.” She left the residence and contacted police. No arrests were made.

 

Criminal Trespassing

• Just after 3:30 p.m. on July 14, a caller in the 100 block of Southwest Interstate Avenue requested a subject reportedly going through people’s mailboxes be trespassed from the area. The subject reportedly told the caller “she was looking for God in mailboxes.”



• A criminal trespass reported in the 300 block of Northwest Chehalis Avenue just after 4:15 p.m. on July 14 is under investigation.

 

Harassment

• Just after 5:50 p.m. on July 14, a caller in the 1700 block of Southwest Armstrong Court reported the father of her juvenile daughter had been calling the daughter’s friend “demanding the address where she’s at” and “threatening to beat the sh** out of her.” No arrests were made.

 

Crashes

• At least one person involved in a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of South Market Boulevard and Southwest 13th Street at 6:45 p.m. on July 14 reported injuries. No additional information was provided.

• A vehicle collision with damage reported at the intersection of Northwest Railroad Avenue and West Main Street just after 4:40 p.m. on July 15 is under investigation.

 

Hit-and-Run

• A hit-and-run was reported in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue at approximately 10:10 a.m. on July 15.

• A hit-and-run was reported in the 400 block of North Market Boulevard just before 3:20 p.m. on July 15.

• A hit-and-run was reported in the 300 block of Southwest Third Street just after 3:35 p.m. on July 15.

 

Dogs in Car

• At approximately 3:35 p.m. on July 15, a caller reported three dogs who were “panting pretty bad” inside a parked car in the 500 block of Northwest Front Street.

 

Under Investigation

• A case of child molestation reported in the 1600 block of North National Avenue just before 10 p.m. on July 15 is under investigation.

 

LEWIS COUNTY JAIL STATISTICS

As of Friday morning, the Lewis County Jail had a total system population of 139 inmates, including 125 in the general population and 14 in the Work Ethic and Restitution Center. Of general population inmates, 109 were reported male and 16 were reported female. All WERC inmates were reported male.
