CHEHALIS POLICE DEPARTMENT

Theft

• A vehicle’s back license plate was reported stolen from the 100 block of North Market Boulevard just before 2:45 p.m. on Aug. 10.

• A theft reported in the 300 block of Southwest James Street just after 4:20 p.m. on Aug. 10 is under investigation.

• A woman reportedly attempted to cash a fraudulent check in the 1400 block of South Market Boulevard at 4:30 p.m. on Aug. 10.

• Two packages were reported stolen from a porch in the 200 block of Southwest William Avenue just before 9:10 a.m. on Aug. 11.

• A second-degree theft reported in the 500 block of South Market Boulevard just before 9:40 a.m. on Aug. 11. A subject reportedly walked out of a business in the 1500 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue at approximately 3:25 p.m. on Aug. 11 wearing a stolen pair of shoes.

 

Trailer Stolen

• A dump trailer was reported stolen from the 1300 block of Northwest State Avenue just before 9 a.m. on Aug. 10. The case is under investigation.

 

Death Investigation

• A death reported in the 2100 block of Southwest Woodland Circle just after 6:05 p.m. on Aug. 10 is under investigation.

 

Disorderly Conduct

• A disorderly subject was reportedly “freaking out” and “trying to fight people and kids” in the 200 block of Southwest 13th Street just before 7:40 p.m. on Aug. 10. No arrests were made.

 

Disputes

• A verbal dispute involving four subjects was reported in the 200 block of Northeast Terrace Road just after 2:40 p.m. on Aug. 11.

• A neighborhood dispute was reported in the 100 block of Southwest Lewis Street at approximately 3:55 p.m. on Aug. 11.

• A dispute was reported in the 600 block of Southeast Dobson Court at approximately 11:35 p.m. on Aug. 11.

 

Trespassing

• A subject was cited for trespassing in the 1700 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue at 8:25 p.m. on Aug. 10. The case is under investigation.

• A man who was reportedly dumpster diving in the 1300 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue just before 9 p.m. on Aug. 10 was trespassed from the property.

• A subject was cited for trespassing on a property in the 500 block of Northwest Front Street just after 4:05 a.m. on Aug. 11.

 

Suspicious Circumstances

• Two teens were reportedly “jumping fences (and) scaring people” in the 600 block of Northeast Franklin Avenue just after 9:50 p.m. on Aug. 10.

 

CENTRALIA POLICE DEPARTMENT

Graffiti

• Graffiti was reported on a fence in the 900 block of Woodland Avenue just before 10:20 a.m. on Aug. 10.



• A Chehalis man was cited for third-degree malicious mischief at 7 a.m. on Aug. 11 after allegedly writing graffiti on the Mellen Street overpass.

 

Indecent Exposure

• A Centralia man was cited for indecent exposure with sexual motivation at the intersection of Lakeshore Drive and Tilley Avenue just before 1:50 p.m. on Aug. 10. During the same incident, another man was cited for third-degree malicious mischief.

 

Theft

• An Olympia man and a Lakewood man were arrested in the 100 block of West High Street at 7:55 p.m. on Aug. 8. The Olympia man was booked into the Lewis County Jail on a second-degree theft charge, while the Lakewood man was booked on second-degree theft, protection order violation and obstruction charges, as well as for outstanding warrants.

• Gift cards were reported stolen from the 1200 block of Harrison Avenue just after 8:15 a.m. on Aug. 11.

• A vehicle was reported stolen from the 1100 block of Centralia College Boulevard just after 10 a.m. on Aug. 11.

• A Centralia woman was arrested in the 100 block of West High Street at 2:40 p.m. on Aug. 11 and was booked into the Lewis County Jail for second-degree theft after she allegedly shoplifted from multiple stores.

• Fraudulent activity on a bank card that was reported in the 300 block of North Tower Avenue just after 3:40 p.m. on Aug. 11 is under investigation.

• An unidentified man “with a short beard and brown hair, who was wearing a yellow construction shirt and blue pants” reportedly stole a Milwaukee battery from the 1600 block of Harrison Avenue just before 6:20 p.m. on Aug. 11 and fled the scene in a Dodge Ram four-door truck.

• A man and a woman reportedly shoplifted from an outlet in the 1300 block of Lum Road just after 6:20 p.m. on Aug. 11 and fled the scene in a Mercury sedan.

 

Sexual Misconduct

• A possible assault with sexual motivation case reported in the 2900 block of Mt. Vista Road at approximately 12:40 p.m. on Aug. 11 is under investigation.

 

DUI

• Jazalynn R. Zarate, 18, of Toledo, was arrested at the intersection of Cooks Hill Road and Wayne Drive just before 11:20 p.m. on Aug. 10 and was booked into the Lewis County Jail for allegedly driving under the influence after reportedly crashing a vehicle into a fence.

• Robert T. Mckenzie, 25, of Centralia, was arrested at the intersection of Rock and Main streets just after 12:35 a.m. on Aug. 12 and was booked into the Lewis County Jail for allegedly driving under the influence.

 

Hit-and-Run

• A hit-and-run was reported in the 1100 block of Harrison Avenue just before 3:50 p.m. on Aug. 11 is under investigation.

 

Vehicle Accident

• Injuries were reported after a single-vehicle accident that occurred at the intersection of Mt. Vista Road and Pioneer Way just before 9:10 p.m. on Aug. 11. The driver was issued a criminal citation.

 

LEWIS COUNTY JAIL STATISTICS

As of Friday morning, the Lewis County Jail had a total system population of 165 inmates, including 146 in the general population and 19 in the Work Ethic and Restitution Center (WERC). Of general population inmates, 119 were reported male and 27 were reported female. Of the WERC inmates, 16 were reported male and three were reported female.
