CHEHALIS POLICE DEPARTMENT
Green Hill School
• A custodial assault that occurred at Green Hill School in the 300 block of Southwest 11th Street on March 30 was reported at approximately 11:10 a.m. on April 14.
Suspicious circumstances
• A man was reportedly seen holding a large knife in the 400 block of North Market Boulevard just before 11:55 a.m. on April 14.
Death
• A death reported at a hotel in the 100 block of Southwest Interstate Avenue just after 12:05 p.m. on April 14 is under investigation. Hotel staff reported that the decedent was supposed to check out at 11 a.m. and was discovered after staff broke into the room to check on him.
Disputes
• A verbal domestic dispute was reported in the 1000 block of Northwest Prindle Street just after 3:10 p.m. on April 14.
• A disturbance or dispute was reported at the intersection of North Market Boulevard and Northwest Front Street at 3:35 p.m. on April 14.
• A possible physical dispute was reported in the 600 block of Northwest Rhode Island Place at approximately 4:30 a.m. on April 16.
Criminal trespass
• A group of four teenage boys reportedly jumped a fence into a park in the 1500 block of Rice Road at approximately 9:50 p.m. on April 14.
• A subject was reportedly trespassing in the 1500 block of North National Avenue at 6:50 a.m. on April 16.
Fraud
• Non-specific fraud reported in the 500 block of Southwest Chehalis Avenue just after 3:15 p.m. on April 14 is under investigation.
Vehicle accidents
• A non-injury, two-vehicle collision was reported in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue just after 4:45 p.m. on April 14.
• A non-injury, two-vehicle collision was reported in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue just after 5 p.m. on April 14.
Malicious mischief
• A man was cited for third-degree malicious mischief, domestic violence, in the 300 block of Southwest James Street at 5 a.m. on April 15.
Sexual misconduct
• Sexual misconduct reported in the 1200 block of Southwest Pacific Avenue at approximately 1:25 p.m. on April 15 is under investigation.
Disorderly conduct
• A homeless woman was reportedly sitting in the middle of the sidewalk and “screaming profanity” in the 200 block of Southwest Second Street at approximately 1:45 p.m. on April 15.
CENTRALIA POLICE DEPARTMENT
Hit-and-run
• A hit-and-run reported in a parking lot in the 1100 block of Harrison Avenue just after 3:45 p.m. on April 14 is under investigation.
• A hit-and-run was reported in a parking lot in the 100 block of West High Street just after 3:35 p.m. on April 15.
• A hit-and-run to a light pole at the intersection of North Pearl and West Maple streets was reported at approximately 4:40 p.m. on April 15.
Theft
• A juvenile was arrested for stealing a bicycle in the 200 block of East Oakview Avenue just before 5:20 p.m. on April 15.
• A $250 helmet was reported stolen off of a motorcycle in a parking lot in the 1000 block of South Yew Street at approximately 5:35 p.m. on April 15.
• A purse containing cash, a cellphone and payment cards was reported stolen out of a vehicle in the 900 block of Johnson Road at approximately 6 p.m. on April 15. The suspect broke the vehicle’s window to gain access to the purse.
Burglary
• A 44-year-old Vancouver woman was arrested at approximately 4:20 p.m. on April 15 for trespassing at a grocery store in the 1000 block of South Yew Street and using products from the shelves.
Unlawful display of a weapon
• A homeless man was cited for brandishing a machete while reportedly looking at cars in a parking lot at the intersection of North Pearl and West Magnolia streets just before 6:25 p.m. on April 15. “Although no one was in his immediate area, and no one was directly threatened, his actions caused alarm and prompted the reporting party to call police,” the Centralia Police Department said in a news release. The machete was confiscated as evidence.
FIRE AND EMS CALLS
• Between Monday morning and Wednesday morning, Lewis County 911 Communications logged approximately 48 illness-related calls, 10 injury-related calls, 13 fire-related calls, 10 non-emergency service calls, two vehicle accidents, three Lifeline medical alerts and three other calls.
JAIL STATISTICS
• As of Wednesday morning, the Lewis County Jail had a total system population of 144 inmates, including 131 in the general population and 13 in the Work Ethic and Restitution Center (WERC). Of general population inmates, 110 were reported male and 21 were reported female. Of the WERC inmates, 11 were reported male and two were reported female.
• As of Wednesday morning, the Chehalis Tribal Jail had a total system population of 13 inmates, including four booked by the Centralia Police Department, four booked by the state Department of Corrections, one booked by Chehalis Tribal Court, two booked by the La Push Quileute Nation, one booked by the Lummi Nation and one booked by the Quileute Tribe.
