Sirens: Embezzlement alleged; woman demands $5,000 from woman her husband had an affair with; man exposes genitals while working on vehicle

CHEHALIS POLICE DEPARTMENT

Theft

• A rented U-Haul was reported stolen from the 1200 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue at 8:20 a.m. on Jan. 21.

• A group of four males reportedly stole a 24-pack of beer and knocked over a case of Twisted Teas at a store in the 1400 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue at 2:40 a.m. on Feb. 4.

• A subject was cited for shoplifting from a store in the 1700 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue at approximately 5:50 p.m. on Feb. 4.

• A third-degree theft reported in the 1500 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue at 7:45 p.m. on Feb. 4 is under investigation.

 

Drug violation

• A subject was arrested for a drug violation in the 1400 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue just before 11:55 a.m. on Jan. 31.

 

Fraud

• Non-specific fraud reported in the 1500 block of Northwest State Avenue just before 3:10 p.m. on Jan. 31 is under investigation.

• Embezzlement reported in the 900 block of Northwest Airport Road just before 12:50 p.m. on Feb. 3 is under investigation.

• Non-specific fraud reported in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue at 3:35 p.m. on Feb. 4 is under investigation.

 

Vehicle accidents

• A two-vehicle, head-on collision was reported at the intersection of state Route 6 and Northwest Louisiana Avenue just before 3:20 p.m. on Jan. 31. No injuries were reported.

• A non-injury, two-vehicle collision was reported at the intersection of Southwest 20th Street and South Market Boulevard just before 4:15 p.m. on Feb. 1.

• A non-injury, two-vehicle collision was reported in the 600 block of Northwest Arkansas Way just after 12:05 p.m. on Feb. 2.

• Possible injuries were reported following a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Northwest Louisiana Avenue and Northwest Chamber of Commerce Way at approximately 1:20 p.m. on Feb. 2.

• A non-injury, two-vehicle collision was reported at the intersection of Northwest Front and Northwest West streets at 6:10 p.m. on Feb. 2.

• A non-injury, two-vehicle collision was reported at the intersection of Northwest Chehalis Avenue and West Main Street at 4:05 p.m. on Feb. 4.

• A non-injury, two-vehicle collision was reported at the intersection of Northwest Chamber of Commerce Way and southbound Interstate 5 at 6:30 p.m. on Feb. 4.

 

Suspicious circumstances

• A resident in the 800 block of Southwest William Avenue reported hearing someone knocking on the outside of their window just after 11:35 p.m. on Jan. 31.

• A woman was seen slapping a 7-year-old child in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue just after 5:15 p.m. on Feb. 1.

• A possible burglary was reported in the 800 block of Southeast Adams Avenue just before 8:30 p.m. on Feb. 1. The reporting party advised that the lock to his gate had been broken and lights were on in a crawl space. No one was located inside the crawl space.

• At 5:40 p.m. on Feb. 3, a woman in the 700 block of Northwest Ohio Avenue reported the wife of a man she slept with was harassing her over the phone and threatened to release information about the affair unless the woman paid her $5,000.

• Two males on bicycles reportedly took mail from a vacant house in the 100 block of Southwest 11th Street just after 2:05 p.m. on Feb. 4.

 

Indecent exposure

• A man was reportedly working on a car in the 1300 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue with his pants down to his thighs, exposing his genitals, at 1:15 p.m. on Feb. 1.

 

Criminal trespass

• Two customers were trespassed from a grocery store in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue just after 2:05 p.m. on Feb. 1.

• A subject was cited for trespassing in the 1500 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue at 5:15 p.m. on Feb. 2.

• A man who lit a controlled fire in a parking lot in the 700 block of South Market Boulevard at approximately 5:15 a.m. on Feb. 3 was trespassed from the property.

• Just after 6:10 p.m. on Feb. 4, a citizen reported a car had been parked by a dumpster in the 200 block of Southwest Interstate Avenue with its headlights on for three to four days. The vehicle’s occupant was trespassed from the property.

• A subject was cited for trespassing at the intersection of North National Avenue and Northwest Chamber of Commerce Way just after 12:20 a.m. on Feb. 5.

 

Death

• A death reported in the 700 block of Northwest Liberty Place at 7:20 a.m. on Feb. 3 is under investigation.

 

Dispute

• A domestic dispute was reported in the 500 block of Northwest Pacific Avenue at approximately 4:30 a.m. on Feb. 5. The reporting party advised that his ex-girlfriend was refusing to get out of his vehicle.

 

Assault



• A tenant at a residence in the 100 block of North Market Boulevard was arrested for fourth-degree assault just after 11:05 a.m. on Feb. 3 after the property manager reported the tenant “came out in his underwear and threw a box of laminate blinds and pictures down the hallway” at about 9:30 a.m. that morning.

• An 18-year-old woman was arrested for assaulting her mother in the 1300 block of Southwest Wilson Avenue just after 8 a.m. on Feb. 4.

 

CENTRALIA POLICE DEPARTMENT

Vehicle accident

• A two-vehicle accident with injuries was reported at the intersection of Galvin and Eshom roads just after 11 a.m. on Feb. 3. The at-fault driver was issued an infraction.

 

Hit-and-run

• A 74-year-old Centralia man was cited for being involved in a parking lot collision in the 1100 block of Harrison Avenue at 2:40 p.m. on Feb. 3 and failing to stay and exchange information with the owner of the other involved vehicle.

• A hit-and-run was reported at the intersection of Harrison Avenue and southbound Interstate 5 at approximately 6:10 p.m. on Feb. 4.

 

Theft

• Clothing was reported stolen from the 2000 block of Haviland Street just before 2:45 p.m. on Feb. 3. The case is under investigation.

• A purse and credit/debit cards were reported stolen out of a vehicle in the 1100 block of Harrison Avenue at approximately 2:25 p.m. on Feb. 4. The case is under investigation.

• Wire was reported stolen out of a shed in the 2000 block of Borst Avenue just after 4:35 p.m. on Feb. 4. The suspect allegedly broke into the shed.

 

Suspicious circumstances

• A subject reported they were threatened with a knife in the 700 block of South Pearl Street at 9:25 p.m. on Feb. 3. The case is under investigation.

 

Drug violation

• A 58-year-old Centralia man was arrested for possession of a controlled substance and for an outstanding warrant in the 400 block of Harrison Avenue just before 10:30 p.m. on Feb. 3. He was also cited for failing to transfer a title within 45 days.

 

Assault

• An assault reported in the 900 block of South Scheuber Road at approximately 8:05 a.m. on Feb. 4 is under investigation.

 

Malicious mischief

• Property damage reported in the 900 block of South Scheuber Road just before 10:30 a.m. on Feb. 4 is under investigation.

 

Unlawful imprisonment

• Rick J. Summit, 26, of Centralia, was arrested for unlawful imprisonment in the 400 block of South Pearl Street at 8:30 a.m. on Feb. 4 after he allegedly trapped his girlfriend and a child in a basement and refused to let them leave. He had a preliminary hearing on felony charges scheduled at 4 p.m. on Feb. 5 in Lewis County Superior Court.

 

Overdose

• Officers assisted fire personnel in responding to an overdose in the 900 block of Harrison Avenue at 1:20 p.m. on Feb. 4. The subject reportedly used fentanyl and was administered Narcan.

 

Eluding

• Officers attempted to stop a vehicle for a traffic violation at the intersection of Eshom Road and Fords Prairie Avenue at approximately 11:05 p.m. on Feb. 4. The vehicle fled at a high rate of speed and officers did not pursue.

 

FIRE AND EMS CALLS

• Between Monday morning and Wednesday morning, Lewis County 911 Communications logged approximately 57 illness-related calls, 10 injury-related calls, nine fire-related calls, five non-emergency service calls, six vehicle accidents, one Lifeline medical alert, two overdoses, one hazardous conditions report, one pregnancy-related call and two other calls.

 

JAIL STATISTICS

• As of Wednesday morning, the Lewis County Jail had a total system population of 147 inmates, including 134 in the general population and 13 in the Work Ethic and Restitution Center (WERC). Of general population inmates, 111 were reported male and 23 were reported female. Of the WERC inmates, 11 were reported male and two were reported female.

• As of Wednesday morning, the Chehalis Tribal Jail had a total system population of 16 inmates, including three booked by the Centralia Police Department, 10 booked by the state Department of Corrections, one booked by the Tulalip Tribe and two booked by the Lummi Nation.
