Sirens: Dine and Dash; Counterfeit Cash; Graffiti; Very Disorderly Conduct; Assaults

CENTRALIA POLICE DEPARTMENT 

Malicious Mischief 

• Just before 8:05 a.m. on Dec. 28, there was a report of graffiti that was spray painted on a building in the 300 block of Reynolds Avenue sometime overnight. 

• Graffiti was reported on a building in the 1000 block of F Street just before 3:45 p.m. on Dec. 28. 

• Vandalism of a vehicle was reported in the 1400 block of Logan Street just after 4:50 p.m. on Dec. 28. 

• Graffiti was reported on a building in the 500 block of West Third Street at approximately noon on Dec. 29. 

• Graffiti was reported on a building in the 700 block of H Street just after 12:10 p.m. on Dec. 29. 

• A Centralia man was cited for third-degree malicious mischief just after 10 p.m. on Dec. 29 after he reportedly head-butted a door at a shelter in the 100 block of North Gold Street. 

 

Assault

• Two teenage girls from Longview were detained for shoplifting at a grocery store in the 500 block of South Tower Avenue just after 10:55 a.m. on Dec. 28. After the stolen property was returned, one of the girls allegedly assaulted a store employee and was booked into the Lewis County Juvenile Detention Center. 

• A man entered a public building in the 100 block of South Silver Street and assaulted another man, according to a report just after 3:15 p.m. on Dec. 29. No injuries were reported and no arrests were made. 

 

Trespassed From Property 

• A man was trespassed from a business in the 400 block of North Tower Avenue just before 5:30 p.m. on Dec. 28 for attempting to camp in the business’ entryway. 

• A Centralia man was arrested in the 1000 block of Eckerson Road at approximately 11:50 p.m. on Dec. 29 and was booked into the Lewis County Jail for first-degree criminal trespass and resisting arrest. 

 

Disorderly Conduct 

• A Centralia man was arrested in the 600 block of South Tower Avenue just after 9:55 p.m. on Dec. 28 and was booked into the Lewis County Jail for third-degree theft and disorderly conduct after he allegedly stole a soda from a local business, opened it and threw it at a store employee. He then allegedly urinated in the parking lot before an officer contacted him. 

 

Counterfeiting 

  A counterfeit $100 bill was reported in the 500 block of North Pearl Street just before 12:30 p.m. on Dec. 29. 

 

Theft 

• At approximately 1:45 p.m. on Dec. 29, speakers were reported stolen from the 400 block of East Summa Street sometime overnight. 

 

Vehicle Accident 

• A non-injury, two-vehicle collision was reported at the intersection of Belmont and Harrison avenues at 8:10 p.m. on Dec. 29. 



 

CHEHALIS POLICE DEPARTMENT 

Hit-and-Run 

• Just after 8:15 a.m. on Dec. 28, a hit-and-run that occurred in the 1700 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue sometime overnight was reported. 

 

Vehicle Accidents 

• Minor injuries were reported following a two-vehicle accident in the 900 block of Southwest Cascade Avenue just after 2:50 p.m. on Dec. 28. 

• A non-injury, two-vehicle accident was reported at the intersection of Northwest Chamber of Commerce Way and Northwest State Avenue at 3 p.m. on Dec. 28. 

 

Malicious Mischief 

• Just after 10:30 a.m. on Dec. 28, a caller reported a window to their house in the 400 block of Southeast Washington Avenue was broken sometime overnight. 

 

Theft 

• Four people reportedly left a business in the 100 block of Southwest Interstate Avenue just after 9:20 a.m. on Dec. 29 without paying for food they ate. 

 

Dispute

  A physical dispute was reported in the 10 block of Southwest Chehalis Avenue just after 12:55 p.m. on Dec. 29. 

 

Disorderly Conduct 

• A subject reportedly “threw tools” at another subject in the 10 block of Southwest Chehalis Avenue at 4:05 p.m. on Dec. 29. 

• A man was reportedly “screaming in the middle of the road” after he reportedly “knocked over some road signs and was swinging the iron bar around” in the 10 block of Southwest Chehalis Avenue just before 6:10 p.m. on Dec. 29. Responding officers did not observe any property damage and noted the man and his vehicle were out of the roadway. 

• A subject who was reportedly “yelling and throwing things around” in the 300 block of Southwest James Street was arrested just after 10:15 p.m. on Dec. 29 after he reportedly approached the reporting party “aggressively” and threw a skateboard at them. 

 

LEWIS COUNTY JAIL STATISTICS

As of Friday morning, the Lewis County Jail had a total system population of 152 inmates, including 138 in the general population and 14 in the Work Ethic and Restitution Center (WERC). Of general population inmates, 109 were reported male and 29 were reported female. Of the WERC inmates, 12 were reported male and two were reported female.
