Sirens: Defendants sentenced for meth, indecent exposure; man won't slide missing ID under door; vehicle tagged with graffiti

CENTRALIA POLICE DEPARTMENT

Theft

• A gym bag was reported stolen from the 900 block of Johnson Road just before 8:25 a.m. on April 2.

• At 4 p.m. on April 2, a firearm was reported stolen from a vehicle in the 1000 block of North Scheuber Road sometime within the last week.

 

Criminal impersonation

• A 34-year-old Centralia man with multiple aliases was arrested for criminal impersonation in the 300 block of East Plum Street just before 12:30 p.m. on April 2.

 

Burglary

• A burglary to a business in the 100 block of West High Street reported just after 1:55 p.m. on April 2 is under investigation.

 

Vehicle accidents

• A two-vehicle collision was reported at the intersection of Kresky Avenue and East Summa Street just after 1:10 p.m. on April 3. Both drivers were transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

 

Drug violations

• A 39-year-old Olympia woman, a 51-year-old Malone man and a 62-year-old Chehalis woman were cited for unlawful possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia in the 1200 block of Harrison Avenue just before 4:05 p.m. on April 3. 

• A 41-year-old Centralia man was arrested in the 1200 block of Lum Road on outstanding Centralia Municipal Court warrants and for unlawful possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia at approximately 10:35 p.m. on April 3.

CHEHALIS POLICE DEPARTMENT

Scam

• A possible scam was reported in the 100 block of East Sixth Street at approximately 8:20 a.m. on April 2.

 

Assault

• A man was arrested for fourth-degree assault in the 100 block of Southwest Alfred Street just after 8:30 a.m. on April 2 after he allegedly “ripped shoes and clothes off (of) his autistic son” and kicked him out.

 

Suspicious circumstances

• Just after 10:25 a.m. on April 2, a woman in the 600 block of Northwest Center Street reported an unidentified man showed up at her house the day prior and claimed to have her ID, which she lost a month ago. She reportedly asked the man to slide her ID under the door, but he “insisted on meeting in person” and left with her ID when she refused. He reportedly sent her unsolicited Facebook friend requests after the incident.

• Just before 10:40 p.m. on April 2, residents of a home in the 100 block of Southwest 10th Street reported someone in a ski mask had been standing outside of their house for the last 30 minutes. Responding officers were unable to locate the subject.

 



Malicious mischief

• A subject was reportedly tagging a vehicle with spray paint at the intersection of Southwest 14th Street and Southwest Johnson Avenue just after 12 p.m. on April 2. The subject was cited for third-degree malicious mischief.

 

Disorderly conduct

• A disorderly man was reportedly standing in traffic and waving his arms at the intersection of Southwest Cascade Avenue and Southwest Second Street at approximately 11:35 a.m. on April 2.

• A man was reportedly yelling in the 1500 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue at approximately 3:20 p.m. on April 2.

 

Criminal trespass

• Multiple subjects were reportedly smoking in a locked public restroom in the 500 block of North Market Boulevard at approximately 12:30 p.m. on April 2.

• A disorderly subject was cited for trespassing in the 1500 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue just after 4:15 p.m. on April 2. 

 

LEWIS COUNTY SUPERIOR COURT

This is a non-comprehensive list of notable developments with Lewis County Superior Court cases The Chronicle has previously reported on. Change of plea

• Bradley Wayne Hamrick, 39, entered In Re Barr pleas April 2 to one count each of unlawful use of a building for drug purposes and possession of meth with intent to manufacture or deliver. An In Re Barr plea allows a defendant to plead guilty to a lesser charge in order to receive the benefit of a plea deal. Sentencing is scheduled for May 28.

 

Sentencing

• Steven Schlomer, 30, pleaded guilty April 2 to one count of failure to register as a sex offender and was sentenced to 30 days in jail with credit for 13 days served. He was previously convicted and sentenced in February for one count of indecent exposure.

 

FIRE AND EMS CALLS

• Between Wednesday morning and Friday morning, Lewis County 911 Communications logged approximately 40 illness-related calls, 10 injury-related calls, eight fire-related calls, four non-emergency service calls, two vehicle accidents, one medical helicopter request, one 911-hangup call, one suicide-related call and one other call.

 

JAIL STATISTICS

• As of Friday morning, the Lewis County Jail had a total system population of 141 inmates, including 128 in the general population and 13 in the Work Ethic and Restitution Center (WERC). Of general population inmates, 104 were reported male and 24 were reported female. Of the WERC inmates, 11 were reported male and two were reported female.

• As of Friday morning, the Chehalis Tribal Jail had a total system population of 19 inmates, including nine booked by the Centralia Police Department, five booked by the state Department of Corrections, two booked by the La Push Quileute Nation, one booked by the City of Elma, one booked by the City of McCleary and one booked by the Lummi Nation.
