CENTRALIA POLICE DEPARTMENT
DUI
• Megan E. Guillory, 52, of Troutdale, Oregon, was arrested at the intersection of Harrison Avenue and West High Street just after 8 a.m. on May 22 and was booked into the Lewis County Jail for allegedly driving under the influence after she was involved in a collision with a school bus. The school bus was not transporting children at the time of the crash and no injuries were reported.
• John J. Blaser, 37, of Centralia, was arrested in the 2800 block of Borst Avenue just after 11:10 a.m. on May 22 and was booked into the Lewis County Jail for allegedly driving under the influence, hit-and-run to an attended vehicle, interfering with a health care facility and obstructing law enforcement.
Vehicle Accidents
• Possible injuries and extensive damage to two vehicles were reported following a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of North Pearl Street and Reynolds Avenue at approximately 2:50 p.m. on May 22.
• A non-injury, two-vehicle collision was reported at the intersection of Northeast Scott Johnson Road and Kresky Avenue just after 4:55 p.m. on May 22.
Theft
• A homeless man from Tacoma was cited for shoplifting in the 500 block of South Tower Avenue just before 3 p.m. on May 22.
• An attempted theft was reported at a hardware store in the 1600 block of Harrison Avenue at 10:15 a.m. on May 23. Employees stopped the suspects and got the stolen products back.
• A diamond ring was reported stolen from the 2500 block of Sharon Street just before 3:15 p.m. on May 23. The case is under investigation.
Eluding
• Detectives in unmarked vehicles reportedly observed two male subjects steal merchandise from a business in the 100 block of West High Street at 7:50 p.m. on May 22. A patrol officer located and attempted to stop the suspects as they got into a silver Mercedes with no license plates. The suspects fled in the Mercedes to another parking lot in the 500 block of Harrison Avenue, where officers relocated the vehicle. A detective with the Joint Narcotics Enforcement Team was able to deploy a spike strip and disable one of the vehicle’s tires, but it fled back onto Harrison Avenue at a high rate of speed and went northbound on Interstate 5. Police were not able to pursue due to state law, according to the Centralia Police Department.
• Officers conducted a traffic stop on a green 2000 Honda Civic at the intersection of northbound Interstate 5 and Harrison Avenue just after 1:20 a.m. on May 23. The vehicle, which was confirmed stolen out of Olympia, was occupied by two males. The vehicle initially pulled over, then fled northbound on Interstate 5 at a high rate of speed after officers exited their vehicles. Officers did not pursue due to state law, according to the Centralia Police Department.
Recovered Vehicle
• A stolen vehicle was recovered in the 900 block of North Washington Avenue just after 8 a.m. on May 23. The case is under investigation. One subject has been arrested and released.
Criminal Impersonation
• A Toppenish man was cited for first-degree criminal impersonation in the 100 block of West High Street just before 7:10 p.m. on May 22 after he allegedly gave officers who contacted him about shoplifting a false name.
Traffic Problem
• Officers contacted occupants in several semi-trucks and an RV at the intersection of Steelhammer and Mahoney drives just after 2:10 a.m. on May 23 after receiving complaints of vehicles illegally parking or camping in the area. The occupants in the illegally parked vehicles were given warnings to move their vehicles.
Assault
• A Centralia woman was arrested in the 900 block of North Washington Avenue just after 9:20 p.m. on May 23 and was booked into the Lewis County Jail for fourth-degree assault, domestic violence. She was additionally booked on outstanding Centralia Municipal Court warrants.
• A Centralia man was arrested in the 400 block of South Silver Street just before 5:55 p.m. on May 24 and was booked into the Lewis County Jail for fourth-degree assault, domestic violence.
Malicious Mischief
• Just after 10:20 a.m. on May 23, there was a report of gang graffiti that was sprayed on a fence in the 900 block of F Street sometime overnight.
Disorderly Conduct
• Officers were dispatched to a business in the 500 block of Harrison Avenue just after 7:45 p.m. on May 23 for a report that a man on a bicycle made threats to assault an employee. Officers were unable to locate the subject.
CHEHALIS POLICE DEPARTMENT
Burglary
• At 10:30 a.m. on May 22, a burglary that occurred in the 500 block of Northwest Pacific Avenue sometime overnight was reported.
• A subject was arrested in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue just before 7:25 p.m. on May 22 and was booked into the Lewis County Jail after officers responded to a second-degree burglary complaint.
Theft
• A backpack was reported stolen from the 1100 block of South Market Boulevard just after 11:20 a.m. on May 22.
• At approximately 6:35 a.m. on May 24, a vehicle prowl that occurred in the 200 block of Southeast Washington Avenue sometime overnight was reported.
• A vehicle prowl reported in the 10 block of Southwest Third Street at 7 a.m. on May 24 is under investigation.
Vehicle Accidents
• A non-injury vehicle collision reported at the intersection of state Route 6 and Northwest Louisiana Avenue just after 12:40 p.m. on May 22 is under investigation.
• A non-injury, two-vehicle collision was reported in the 2600 block of Northeast Kresky Avenue just after 1:10 p.m. on May 22.
Assault
• A case of fourth-degree assault between two juveniles was reported in the 1000 block of Southwest 20th Street just after 3:30 p.m. on May 22.
Suspicious Person
• Just before 10:40 p.m. on May 22, a caller who was driving southbound on Interstate 5 reported a subject was sitting on the side of the freeway near the intersection of West Main Street and Northwest Chehalis Avenue. A male subject contacted by police said he was “just minding his own business, but agreed to do it somewhere else.”
Malicious Mischief
• Just before 8:20 a.m. on May 23, vandalism to a trailer battery that occurred in the 10 block of Southwest Ninth Street sometime overnight was reported. Someone had reportedly cut the wires to the battery.
Criminal Trespass
• Two subjects were trespassed from a property in the 2100 block of North National Avenue just after 11:10 a.m. on May 23.
• Subjects in a motorhome in the 1700 block of North National Avenue were trespassed from the property at 5:30 p.m. on May 23.
LEWIS COUNTY JAIL STATISTICS
As of Wednesday morning, the Lewis County Jail had a total system population of 161 inmates, including 146 in the general population and 15 in the Work Ethic and Restitution Center (WERC). Of general population inmates, 112 were reported male and 34 were reported female. Of the WERC inmates, 12 were reported male and three were reported female.
