Sirens: Alcohol stolen, resold; disorderly man 'points finger guns' at vehicle, spits; possible child abuse reported

CENTRALIA POLICE DEPARTMENT

Theft

• A 39-year-old Bucoda woman was arrested in the 100 block of West Maple Street just before 2:45 p.m. on Dec. 18 for second-degree trafficking stolen property and third-degree theft after she allegedly stole and resold bottles of alcohol from a store.

 

Vehicle accident

• A 53-year-old Olympia man was cited for third-degree driving with a suspended license and driving without insurance after, Centralia police said, “his inattentiveness caused him to rear-end a vehicle he was following” at the intersection of Belmont and Harrison avenues just before 4 p.m. on Dec. 18.

 

CHEHALIS POLICE DEPARTMENT

Disorderly conduct

• A disorderly man was reported in the 500 block of North Market Boulevard just after 9:50 a.m. on Dec. 18.

• A disorderly man reportedly pushed his cart into a vehicle, spit on the vehicle, pointed “finger guns” at the driver and said “bang bang” in the 600 block of Northwest Arkansas Way just before noon on Dec. 18.

• A male subject was reportedly yelling and walking around with a knife in the 1500 block of North National Avenue at 12:45 p.m. on Dec. 19.

• A man was reportedly yelling and screaming on the front steps of a residence in the 400 block of North Market Boulevard just before 1:25 p.m. on Dec. 19.

 

Suspicious circumstances

• Just after 10:35 a.m. on Dec. 18, a resident in the 500 block of Southwest Cascade Avenue reported seeing someone going through their mailbox at about 9:50 a.m. that morning.

• A citizen in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue reported possible child abuse just before 12:50 p.m. on Dec. 18. The citizen reported a mother was yelling at a 3-year-old and “‘booted’ the child with an adult foot.” Officers “don’t believe a crime has been committed at this time.”

• A possible burglary in progress was reported in the 1200 block of Southwest 22nd Street just after 2:15 p.m. on Dec. 18.

• At approximately 4:45 p.m. on Dec. 19, a woman in the 300 block of North Market Boulevard reported possible harassment and reported that “she was dead at some point and her body was dismembered.” She reportedly said “she is now alive” and wanted to report an incident that occurred in Astoria, Oregon, where “she was chased with an ax.” She said “she realized this happened when she had died in the past.”

• At approximately 7:55 p.m. on Dec. 19, a citizen in the 700 block of Northwest Liberty Place reported hearing “two huge explosions” about 10 minutes prior. The explosions were reportedly two to three minutes apart. The citizen did not see flames, but did see smoke.

 

Criminal trespass

• A disorderly man carrying a hula hoop was trespassed from a property in the 10 block of Southwest Chehalis Avenue just after 11:35 a.m. on Dec. 18.

• A disorderly man was trespassed from a business in the 600 block of West Main Street just before 6:35 a.m. on Dec. 19.

• Two women were trespassed from a property in the 700 block of South Market Boulevard at approximately 2:20 p.m. on Dec. 19.

• A man who was sleeping at the back door of a property in the 700 block of West Main Street just before 7:25 a.m. on Dec. 20 was moved along.

Theft



• Just before 12:10 p.m. on Dec. 18, a citizen in the 1000 block of Northwest State Avenue reported a pistol was stolen from his vehicle while it was in a shop for repairs about 10 days prior. The citizen said the delay in reporting was due to him “thinking he just misplaced it.”

• An employee at a business in the 1300 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue was cited for stealing $445 just before 8:25 a.m. on Dec. 19.

• A subject was arrested for shoplifting in the 400 block of North Market Boulevard just before 3:20 p.m. on Dec. 19.

• Liquor was reportedly shoplifted from a business in the 500 block of South Market Boulevard just before 7 p.m. on Dec. 19.

 

Dispute

• A verbal dispute was reported in the 1700 block of North National Avenue just before 12:40 p.m. on Dec. 18.

 

Vehicle accidents

• A non-injury, two-vehicle collision was reported at the intersection of South Market Boulevard and Southeast Kenwood Drive at approximately 6:25 p.m. on Dec. 18.

• A non-injury, two-vehicle collision was reported at the intersection of Northwest Louisiana Avenue and Northwest Arkansas Way just before 6 p.m. on Dec. 19.

• Minor injuries were reported following a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Northwest Louisiana Avenue and Northwest Chamber of Commerce Way at 6:10 p.m. on Dec. 19.

 

Overdose

• A 14-year-old male possibly overdosed in the 600 block of Northeast Franklin Avenue at approximately 7 a.m. on Dec. 19.

 

Malicious mischief

• A juvenile reportedly broke the cover on a light in a room at a facility in the 1200 block of Southwest Pacific Avenue just after 2:10 a.m. on Dec. 20.

 

FIRE AND EMS CALLS

• Between Wednesday morning and Friday morning, Lewis County 911 Communications logged approximately 44 illness-related calls, eight injury-related calls, nine fire-related calls, eight non-emergency service calls, four vehicle accidents, one Lifeline medical alert, two overdoses, one hazardous conditions report and three other calls.

 

JAIL STATISTICS

• As of Friday morning, the Lewis County Jail had a total system population of 154 inmates, including 141 in the general population and 13 in the Work Ethic and Restitution Center (WERC). Of general population inmates, 110 were reported male and 31 were reported female. Of the WERC inmates, 11 were reported male and two were reported female.

• As of Friday morning, the Chehalis Tribal Jail had a total system population of 13 inmates, including six booked by the Centralia Police Department, four booked by the state Department of Corrections, one booked by the Tulalip Tribe, one booked by Chehalis Tribal Court and one booked by the Lummi Nation.
