Centralia capped off its best season in decades by droppin Aberdeen (25-23, 25-5, 25-13) in the Tigers’ regular-season finale on the road Friday.

The Tigers move to 9-1 overall and will now await the winner of W.F. West and Aberdeen, which are playing the opening round of districts on Tuesday. The Tigers will host the winner at home Thursday.

Against Aberdeen Friday, Jadyn Hawley continued her run of consistency this season, serving 18-for-19, digging 17 balls and striking 11 kills. Ella Orr, filling in at libero for the second-straight game, recorded a team-high 25 digs.

Madison Stoeckler added a game-high 30 assists and Peyton Smith was 20-for-21 serving with five aces and eight digs. Smith served 15 straight points and three aces during one impressive stretch in the second set.

“The first set we were playing behind the entire time,” Centralia coach Marti Smith said. “We couldn’t find a rhythm and were slow out of the gate. But we kept chipping away. I was proud of them for hanging tough and coming out on top

Smith also praised Makayla Chavez, who came off the bench to play outside hitter and recorded five kills in the second set, providing a much-needed spark for the Tigers.
