The W.F. West boys had a strong showing, claiming the win as the host of the Chehalis Activators Invitational at Bearcats Stadium on Saturday.
Earning wins for the Bearcats was Connor Russell in the 300 meter hurdles with a time of 41.24 seconds and earned second in the 110 hurdles (15.26). Colby White earned wins in the high jump with a leap of 6 feet, 5 inches and claimed the title in the triple jump (42-10.50). Lafe Johnson won the pole vault (14-03) and Thomas Koenig placed second (13-00).
W.F. West’s 4x100 relay team of Troy Yarter, Aaron Fuller, Jaiyden Camoza and Gerardo Sanchez-Carpio placed second with a time of 44.68 seconds. The 4x400 relay team of Carver Brennan, Fuller, Russell and Sanchez-Carpio finished second with a time of 3:29.
Sanchez-Carpio finished second in the 400 (51.72) and Brennan finished third (51.97). Zachary Sloan earned third in the shot put (46-03) and Carter McCoy finished third in the triple jump (40-08).
The Bearcats ran away with the team title with 132 team points. Adna finished second with 56 points and Hoquiam placed third with 54 points.
Austen Apperson earned a pair of wins for the Pirates in the 800 (1:57.17) and the 1600 (4:24.68). The 4x100 relay team of Braden Thomas, Zander Blankenship, Jarod Keys and Brady Collins won with a time of 44.47 seconds. The 4x400 relay team of Blankenship, Keys, Collins and Apperson won with a time of 3:28.09.
Willy Ames finished third in the 110 hurdles (16.01) for the Pirates.
Napavine’s Draven Riddle won the long jump (21-01.50) and finished second in the triple jump (42-08). Keith Olson placed fourth in the shot put (44-02).
Pe Ell’s Braeden McAllister finished third in the 300 hurdles (43.19) and sixth in the 110 hurdles (17.16). Andrew Schulz finished fourth in the long jump (20-03.50) and Jeremiah Yost placed fifth in the discus (129-06).
Centralia’s Cameron Moore took fourth in the 400 (52.30) and the 4x400 relay team of Andrew Kahn, Cameron Lawson, Sha’Ron Settles and Moore placed fourth with a time of 3:36.69. Rudy Voetberg earned fifth in the 3200 (10:37.55).
Morton-White Pass’ Tristen Storey earned third in the 200 (22.97) and Onalaska’s Bo Blankenship earned sixth in the javelin (146-04). Winlock’s Noah Patching finished ninth in the 800 (2:06.73).
Tenino’s Paxton Russell won the discus (134-07) and Rochester’s Daniel May placed fourth in the javelin (151-09).
The W.F. West girls finished fourth as a team. Megan Flexhaug won the pole vault (10-06) and the 4x400 team of Nina Heither, Courtney Bennett, Elizabeth Patana and Kelly Robertson won with a time of 4:20.41.
The 4x200 relay team of Heither, Bennett, Patana and Robertson placed third with a time of 1:52.49. Robertson took third in the 300 hurdles (49.44) and Ryan Correia placed fourth in the pole vault (9-06). Taya McCallum finished fifth in the discus (94-01).
Shelton won the girls team title with 68 points. Rainier placed second with 65 points, Elma finished third with 64 points and W.F. West took fourth place with 59 points.
Adna finished sixth with 41 points. Kaylin Todd took second in the 800 (2:33.17) and the 4x400 relay team of Lauryn Apperson, Todd, Zarine Walker and Faith Wellander earned third with a time of 4:24.73.
Carli Latimer earned fourth in the 200 (27.89), Apperson took fourth in the 800 (2:34.78) and Wellander finished fifth in the 300 hurdles (51.17).
Centralia’s Makayla Erickson won the 3200 (12:37.50) and Lucy Nowicki took third in the 400 (1:04.57). Bailey Powell earned fourth in the 100 (13.09).
Napavine’s Chloe Stewart finished second in the triple jump (33-09.50), third in the 100 hurdles (16.86) and fourth in the 300 hurdles (50.52) and the long jump (15-05.50).
Morton-White Pass’ Katie Salguero finished seventh in the shot put (31-03). Emily Elswick placed eighth in the shot put (30-07.25) and Kaylen Collette earned eighth in the 3200 (13:49.13).
Onalaska’s Carmen Cleveland-Barrera placed second in the shot put (39-08.50) to break the Onalaska’s girls shot put record. Tenino’s Ashleigh Adams finished fourth in the triple jump (31-10.50) and Olivia Hisaw placed fifth in the 100 hurdles (17.93).
Rochester’s Gabby Holman finished sixth in the 3200 (13:46.76).
W.F. West and Centralia will face off in an Evergreen 2A Conference dual meet on Wednesday at Tiger Stadium in Centralia. Rochester travels to Tumwater on Tuesday for an EvCo meet.
MWP and Onalaska travels to Chief Leschi on Tuesday for a league meet and Adna hits the road for a league meet in Raymond on Thursday. Napavine hosts Pe Ell, Tenino and Winlock for a league meet on Thursday.
Toledo, Mossyrock Earn Wins at Kalama Twilight Invite
KALAMA — Toledo and Mossyrock each had some winners at the Kalama Twilight Invite track & field meet here on Friday.
The Toledo boys finished seventh as a team. Nicholas Marty won the 3200 with a time of 10 minutes, 4 seconds and he finished second in the 1600 (4:34.75). The 4x100 relay team of Jacob Butcher, Miguel Soto, Duke Schaplow and Braden Bramhall took third with a time of 45.39 seconds.
Soto finished fourth in the long jump (19 feet, 3 inches). Bramhall earned sixth in the 100 (11.93) and Westin Wallace placed seventh in the 400 (57.30).
Mossyrock’s 4x400 relay team of Gerardo Salgado, Jason Terrasi, Felix Gomez and James Cushman placed eighth with a time of 3:54.03.
In girls action, Kal Schaplow won the javelin with a toss of 126 feet, 8 inches. Stacie Spahr finished fourth in the discus (85-07) and sixth in the shot put (29-00). The 4x100 relay team of Nyssa Castro, Andrea Jones, Alyssa Gaskill and Schaplow finished fourth with a time of 55.50 seconds.
Mossyrock’s Andee Nelson placed second in the javelin (107-04) and Heather Edgar took second in the shot put (31-10). Sarah Lovan finished fifth in the 800 (2:32.72) and Teaguen Weise earned fifth in the 200 (29.05).
Toledo travels to Cathlamet on Thursday for a league meet at Wahkiakum while Mossyrock is at Raymond on Thursday for a league meet.
