Two Tigers picked up victories and four top-four finishers allowed them to total 73 points to place third on Saturday at the Kalama Rubber Chicken. Napavine was seventh with 37 points and Tenino finished ninth with 33.5 points.

The 100-pound bracket featured a Centralia head-to-head final with Luna Martinez-Arevalo clipping Jocelyn Navvaro 2-1. Martinez-Arevalo picked up the second point on Navvaro’s second stalling call in the third.

Eva Reinitz notched two pins to win at 115. Since losing two straight at Braided 64, the sophomore has picked up nine straight victories. Jazmin Castorena was the runner-up at 105 while Autumn Weinke (155) and Braylee Blankenship (120) placed third and fourth, respectively.

Tenino’s Nataliah Chacon won her first tournament of the winter behind a pin and a first period tech fall at 125-pounds. Teammate Ynavi Rodriguez took third at 190.

Napavine’s highest finisher was Makaylynn Arias, second at 170 while Bella Cserni (145) and Anna Guenther (115) recorded top-four finishes.

Goodrich continues stellar season for Cardinals

Just over four minutes total in two matches was all Winlock’s Hailey Goodrich needed to secure two pins and win her second tournament of the season at Saturday’s Battle at the Bridge Invite at Hockinson High School.

Now at 16-3 on the season, Goodrich upended league foe Bailey Gross of Mossyrock in the finals at 120-pounds. One takedown and a turn was all Goodrich, a junior, needed to settle in for the fall in 1 minute, 56 seconds.

Winlock’s Samantha Paull (170) and Marisa Del Paso (135) finished fourth and fifth, respectively. Gross had two pins to reach the finals for Mossyrock as its lone placer.
