Ronald Lloyd Barnes, a resident of Chehalis, Wash., passed away at home Sunday, April 11, 2021. Ron was born in Enumclaw, Wash., March 6, 1957, to Donald and Lucille Barnes.
The family moved to the Boistfort Valley in 1959, and Ron graduated from Boistfort High School in 1975. After high school, Ron joined the United Sates Army and was stationed in Germany for four years where he operated heavy equipment. After serving in the military, Ron returned to the Boistfort Valley and along with his brother, Bob, joined their father’s company, Barnes Logging. After his father retired, Ron continued to drive heavy equipment for several years with his step brothers before moving to Kennewick, Wash., where he was a commercial truck driver until he retired in 2018.
We will remember Ron as a fun and loving son, father, brother, grandfather, and friend. He was an incredibly kind man with a great sense of humor.
Ron was preceded in death by his father, Donald Leroy Barnes Sr.; mother, Betty Lucille (Eckfield) Barnes; his twin brother, Donald Leroy Barnes Jr.; his wife, Janna (Roganna Phillips) Barnes; his stepson, David Vogel; stepbrother, Travis Seiber; nephew, Mark Leroy Godbey; and lifelong friend, James (Jimmy) Parker.
He is survived by his son, Ronald Lloyd Barnes Jr.; daughter, Mallisa Cunha; grandsons, Tyler (Jessica) Barnes, Eric Hays, and Harley Hays; and great-granddaughter, Lileeana Mae Barnes. Also surviving Ron are his brothers, Robert (Susie) Barnes and Randy (Alisha) Barnes; sisters, Donna (Ken) Thomas, Deanna (Mike) Dawes, and Darlene (Doug) DeLaGrange; stepmother, Jan (Paul) Jensen; stepbrothers, Tom (Valerie) Hughes and Calvin Bear (Marybeth) Dahl; stepsisters, Tamera Brooks, Teresa Hughes and Jonnica (Ben) Elkins; and many nieces and nephews.
Arrangements have been made by Cattermole Funeral Home, Winlock, Wash. A graveside service will be held at the Boistfort Cemetery in Curtis at 11 a.m., Monday, April 19, 2021. There will be a potluck lunch at the Baw Faw Grange following the service.
