The Rochester baseball team didn’t put the ball in play very often on Friday, but they didn’t have to, as the Warriors drew 15 walks and were hit by five pitches en route to a 15-1 victory over Black Hills.

The Warriors (3-4, 1-2 2A EvCo) tallied just four base hits, but they took advantage of the free passes by scoring eight runs in the first, one in the second, and six in the third to take a 15-0 lead.

Black Hills (2-4, 1-4 2A EvCo) was able to get on the board in the fifth on an RBI single from Chase Chandler, but the outcome wasn’t in doubt.

Henry Gramelspacher pitched all five innings for the Warriors, allowing just two hits and an unearned run while striking out six and walking four.

Tyler Huston drove in a pair while going 2 for 3 at the plate with a double, and Tate Quarnstrom also drove in two, and he drew three walks. Ethan Rodriguez went to the plate four times without recording an at-bat, drawing four walks and scoring twice.

The Wolves and Warriors face off again on Saturday in Tumwater.
