The Toledo girls basketball team put together another stellar defensive performance on Monday, holding Tenino to four points or less in three quarters of a dominant 54-18 victory.

Toledo built a 21-4 lead after just one frame, and added on by outscoring the Beavers 15-1 in the second and 12-3 in the third.

The Riverhawks, who have now won five in a row, have not allowed a team to hit 30 during that stretch, and they’ve only given up an average of 22 points per game in that span.

Ellie Fallon led the way against Tenino with 12 points, seven steals, and six assists, while Ryah Stanley scored 10 points.

Hope Gould and Peyton Holter approached double-figures with nine and eight points, respectively, while Xtyn Norberg scored five and Kailea Lairson-Young scored four.

Sydney Kruger, Lilly Cooper, and Taysia Miller each added two.

Brianna Asay led Tenino with seven points, while Chloe Grayless and Brynn Williams both added four. Keira Laughlin and Kylie Gonia rounded out the Tenino scoresheet with two and one, respectively.

Tenino (2-7) will look to snap its losing streak on Thursday at Montesano, while Toledo (7-3) will look to extend its winning streak when it hosts Willapa Valley next Wednesday, Jan. 8.
