Riverhawks Run-Rule Mules

The Toledo softball team did a bit of hitting and a lot of walking Wednesday, beating Wahkiakum 18-0 in three innings.

Despite going to Cathlamet for the game, the Riverhawks were the home team, which ended up making the game that much shorter, since they only had to come up to bat twice, scoring 14 runs in the first inning and four more in the second to get to run-rule territory.

Toledo only logged six hits, but drew 15 walks, while only making six outs. Thirteen Riverhawks came around to cross home plate.

Kailea Lairson made the most of the one pitch she got to hit, drilling a grand slam in the first inning. Candace Clark went 1 for 1 and drove two runs in, while Brynn Davis had a hit, two walks, drove two runs in, and scored two more.

Still undefeated in Central 2B League play, Toledo is set to get a whole new level of test Thursday — weather permitting — when it faces Adna.
