The Toledo boys basketball team started fast against Mossyrock on Friday, but the Riverhawks needed a strong finish to hold on for a 60-51 win.
“Mossyrock just brought it,” Toledo coach Grady Fallon said. “They played hard, played well, and just kept hanging around.”
Toledo (15-3, 11-3 C2BL) led by six after one, but Mossyrock (3-12, 3-11 C2BL) trailed by just four entering the final frame. The Riverhawks scored 20 in the final quarter to pull away.
Cooper Fallon scored 17 points, nine rebounds, five blocks, and four assists, while Conner Hill and Eli Weeks both added 12 points. Weeks added four assists and three steals, while Hill grabbed five rebounds.
Adam Kruger scored nine points, eight rebounds, and four assists, and Ryker Sorenson and Tyce Vigre added four points apiece.
As a team, Toledo turned the ball over just 12 times. In his season debut, Trevin Gale grabbed three rebounds.
“It’s nice to have him back,” Grady Fallon said of Gale. “No one is really standing out. We’re playing really well together and playing really unselfish. Hopefully that carries us on.”
Easton Kolb led the Vikings with 19 points, while Ethan Johnson scored 10 and Mason Atter added nine. Shaun Fry scored eight, and Kevin Mitchell finished with five.
Toledo will head to Cathlamet to face Wahkiakum on Monday, while Mossyrock will return home to host Onalaska on Wednesday.
