As most teams have this season, the Toledo baseball team just couldn’t keep up with Toutle Lake and its arms in a 9-0 loss Tuesday at Lower Columbia Community College in the 2B District 4 semifinals.

The Ducks got out ahead and ran with it, scoring all nine of their runs in the second, third, and fourth inning to pull away. Meanwhile, the Riverhawks managed just three hits, and was held off the scoreboard.

Carson Gould went 2 for 3, and Conor Gilreath had the Riverhawks only other hit in the loss. Ryker Sorenson started for Toledo, and went three innings allowing two earned runs on eight hits and four walks with a strikeout.

Zach Swanson started on the hill for the Ducks, going two innings and striking out two with five walks. Cox pitched the last five innings, giving up just one hit and striking out six.

The Ducks advance to the district title game against Napavine on Saturday while the Riverhawks look to bounce back in the consolation bracket against Kalama on Friday at 2 p.m.
